We mourn the passing of our dear friend and
long time AWC member Helen Baker,
President and Owner of Golden Valley
Transfer.
Helen served as an active board member
from 2003-2005 and AWC Treasurer for the
2005-2007 term.
Helen believed one passage that she often
said:
“Well behaved women
don’t make history.”

14. Construction Partnering Program
 An innovative program created by the City of St. Paul to increase contracting opportunities for
minority and women owned businesses in the construction industry.
 With the financial support of the City of St. Paul, the Association of Women Contractors (AWC) and
Metropolitan Economic Development Association (MEDA) jointly manage the CPP Program.
 A dozen CPP relationships have been developed, including the following current partnerships.

Since 2001, the AWC has awarded $49,000.00 in
scholarships to young women. This total includes
the exciting $10,000.00 we are awarding today.
