Throughout the project, the student used various new media technologies in the construction, research, planning, and evaluation stages. They used Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, YouTube, Weebly, Blogger, cameras, and tripods to film and edit their film trailer, create a poster and magazine cover, and post their work online. During research and planning, they used Prezi to create multimedia presentations and the Pearl and Dean website for film statistics. YouTube was used to research film conventions for the trailer. A camera and tripod were used to film scenes, and Final Cut Pro to edit and add effects. Photoshop was used to create the poster and magazine cover. Prezi and SlideShare were used for the

Question 4
1. Question 4 - How did you use new
media technologies in the
construction and research, planning
and evaluation stages?
2. Throughout Media A2, myself and my work partner have used
multiple media technologies in order to complete our coursework
some example are Final Cut
Pro, Photoshop, YouTube, Weebly, Blogger, Cameras, Tripods and
more. These various media technologies allowed us to film our
film trailer, create our film poster and magazine cover and overall
post our work so that others can follow the progress of our work.
During the Research and Planning stages of our media project we
used a site called Prezi, this site allows us to create multimedia
presentations in order to discuss different aspects of both horror
films and comedy films. We also came across a useful
website, Pearl and Dean which shows us the statistics of different
films such as the Age, Gender and Class of those who watched the
films.
3. • YouTube was a very popular media technology
that we used to complete some of our
Research and Planning as we needed to
review the conventions used in popular horror
films so we could get an understanding of
what we needed to apply into our trailer. Not
only were we able to review existing horror
films for inspiration, we also were able to
research the film trailers that we previously
analysed.
4. • During the construction stage of our trailer, we decided it was best
to use a basic Camera to record and a Tripod in order to use
different angles in our trailer. Once we finished using the Camera
and Tripod we began to edit our clips with a well known new media
technology called Final Cut Pro X which allowed us to edit, crop and
add special effects and music to the scenes. The benefit of having
this software is that we can apply effects so that we could attract a
larger amount of our target audience.
• By having to create a film poster and magazine front cover, we
thought it would be best to use Adobe Photoshop as it has the best
editing software and is often used to create productions and
photos. There are many tools to available which we used to crop
the photo and place it onto the page and they all became useful to
create a film poster and magazine cover.
5. • Finishing our coursework with an Evaluation
we used Prezi as a multimedia presentation to
explain how we completed all our work. The
Prezi allowed us to answer the evaluation
questions in a clearer presentation so that
more of the multimedia was used in a much
more conventional way. We also used slide
share as another media component to upload
our evaluation on. This highlights our ability to
use other types of media technologies
