By Iman Malik, Katie Buckland, Maddy Gardner, Leah
Purton and Shannon Kaminski
2. • A web designer is someone who designs
websites
WHAT IS A
WEB
DESIGNER ?
3. • A computer with an extensive sized
RAM: 16 GB
• They might want a 27” monitor with a
clear graphic display.
• Preferably, a Quad-Core processor
would be suited to a web designer
because it provides more cache memory
which makes a faster speed of access.
• Intel i7 processor.
WHAT
ESSENTIAL
COMPONENTS
DO THEY
NEED?
4. • To upgrade the monitor it would cost
approximately £1000- £2000
• A key upgrade is the RAM. To upgrade
to more storage space it would cost
approximately £100 for 16 GB.
• This computer does not have much
space to upgrade to a new CPU and if it
was to be upgraded it would cost
approximately £100- £150
• This computer only has 2 PCI slots and
to provide more slots on the
motherboard it would enable more
space to insert graphics cards and TV
cards. To do this, it would cost
approximately £500 but it would be
more cost efficient to buy a
motherboard with more PCI slots or buy
a graphics card that can fit into other
slots.
• To upgrade the components of your
computer you would have to upgrade
your motherboard which has an
approximate cost of £50-£100

5. • If the computer had an adequate
processor it would last approximately 3
years.
• However, some computers can last for a
longer period of time depending how
upgraded its components are.
FUTURE
PROOF
6. • The web designer may use a graphics tablet to
design certain aspects of the website like
pictures.
• Another peripheral device that would be useful
is a printer to show templates for customers
and for personal viewing.
• A microphone could be used to record sound
files to upload to the website.
• An optional peripheral that could also be of use
is a webcam so that the web designer can
upload video files and also video chat
meetings with his managing partners.
