Dr. Mohamed Shekhani and Dr. Hiwa Abubakir Husein from the Kurdistan center for gastroenterology & hepatology traveled to Japan from March 1-19, 2011 for science and training in endoscopy. They attended welcome parties in Nagoya and Kumamoto cities and delivered talks at various hospitals including Aichi Cancer Center in Nagoya. During their visit, they observed advanced endoscopy practices and techniques for diagnosing gastrointestinal cancers including chromoendoscopy, narrow-band imaging, and magnifying endoscopy. They were impressed by the high standards of patient care and privacy protection in Japanese endoscopy units.
