- In the ancient Aztec World, there were a lot of trees called Amates, these special trees have a peculiar wood inside that the Aztec discover that could take very thin layers of them and that was easy to color and write gerogrifics, that was the way that the Aztecs communicated with themselves and to the world. By means of this amates that were left behind and by the use of good interpreters is that we can know how the Aztec used to think, interpret their own lives, know about the environment that they used to live in and more.Now a days the artisans continue using them placing there majestic art in beautiful colors using their imagination and symphony of colors to project to the world their art as well as they also use the Aztec symbols to express the Aztec and the Mayan art as well.
