- membership decline in detail best records we have go back to 1999 peaked in 2002 with 370 today we have 231 where have we lost membership?
- institutions remain somewhat constant huge drops in student and regular members, many of whom were sponsored
- this is also reflected in how international we were compared to how we are now red indicates >50% drop in members since 2002
- same data as previous slide, but in graphical form so, why the dramatic drop? 1) we were sponsoring too many people? 2) others lost interest or didn't see any value in ISH and stopped renewing?
- reminder that we have a membership database that every current member can edit
- another reminder that you can pay your dues by PayPal now (this will hopefully help increase membership numbers)
- we have a blog, where anyone (after getting permission from the secretary or webmaster) can pot in ISH- or other related news/opinions
- And we've initiated a NEW newsletter for ISH...
- Do we have any other suggestions? Many people expressed the importance of finding a taxon-neutral name. Any other discussion warranted here?
