3. ¿Qué es el dinero?
A medium that can be exchanged for goods and services and is used as a
measure of their values on the market
Funciones principales:
●
Medium of exchange
●
Unit of account
●
Store of value
What is a good currency?
5. Bitcoin
● Moneda electrónica
● Ninguna autoridad central
● Algunas propiedades son comunes a otras monedas físicas (escasez,
portable, fungible, divisible, verificable)
● Transferencias Irreversibles (por defecto)
● Basada en Criptografía
Author: Satoshi Nakamoto (alias)
6. Bitcoin
● The coin is a string produced out of a mathematical operation (hash
collision).
● Electronic transfer are signed with the private key of the sender, the public
key of the recipient and message content. They are publically announced..
● Self-regulated mechanisms to avoid double spend and coin
overproduction.
7. Bitcoin is decentralized
●
●
●
●
●
●
There is no Bitcoin Inc behind Bitcoin
No central issues (such as Fed)
Uses free and open software and protocols
P2P networking
Different functions for each node component
Trust is not needed (each party is assumed as no trustable)

11. Minado
A hash (SHA256) is applied to the block header of previous transactions
A new header is search, it should have a collision with previous header.
Who finds the hash first, shows its “proof of works” (POW) and process
current transactions.
The miner is rewarded a BTC block (currently 25 BTC) + commissions
related to transactions in the new block.
12. Minado (II)
If there are more than one conformation event, most complex is chosen (with
more leading 0s). At same complexity, longest resulted chain is chosen.
19. “Encontrando” BTC
Evento discreto, aleatorio (Poison).
años), actualmente 25 BTC.
24. Minar
● Minar BTC no es un fin en sí mismo.
● Valida transacciones y distribuye BTC iniciales.
26. End user view of the process
● Local Software (bitcoinQT, Multicoin)
● Online wallets (blockchain.info, coinbase)
● Paper wallet.
27. Características comunes bitcoin wallet
It has a public key that can be represented with a string or
a QR code:
14StEEKsS4LvugspYVBxzQudg2gGWU5rVC
(there are 2160 “wallets”, grains of sand
comparison)
The private key is needed to auth BTC transfers.
28. other features...
Online wallets are not recommended by security conscious people (there were lot
of cases of stolen BTC and scams)
Software Wallets in most cases are not so easy to use, mobile version tends to be
easier to use than PC versions.
Paper Wallet is safest but hardest to use (not take advantage of some dinamic
features of BTC)
44. Alt-coins cryptocurrency
alt-coins is a kind of cryptocurrency that had some differences from BTC in
technical or social aspects.
Is where BTC innovation is tested.
Ex.: Difficulty change, hash algorithm, confirmation time, uses.
