PWA: Purpose

Partner With an Artist is a program wherein
businesses and artists collaborate with one
another to create unique and innovative artworks
that are inspired by the businesses themselves –
the workers, the customers, the site, the history
of the building – and the collaborative process.
PWA: How it Works
PWA is an opportunity for artists to make collaborative work outside of
traditional visual art spaces. Artists are invited to determine the content
and method of their work in response to the physical, historical, and/or
cultural aspects of a site, and the lived experiences of the people who
work in or use the site. PWA challenges artists to think about their work
and their roles as artists in new ways

Goals:
The goals of PWA are to:
•Provide high-profile exhibition and career-building opportunities for
contemporary artists
•Provide quality, innovative arts experiences that are part of the daily
lives of Gloucester residents and visitors
•Strengthen the relationships between the arts and business
communities
•Create exposure and economic opportunities for artists and business
owners

Gloucester Engineering Partners With Local Artist

  • 2. PWA: Purpose Partner With an Artist is a program wherein businesses and artists collaborate with one another to create unique and innovative artworks that are inspired by the businesses themselves – the workers, the customers, the site, the history of the building – and the collaborative process.

Artists are invited to determine the content and method of their work in response to the physical, historical, and/or cultural aspects of a site, and the lived experiences of the people who work in or use the site. PWA challenges artists to think about their work and their roles as artists in new ways Goals: The goals of PWA are to: •Provide high-profile exhibition and career-building opportunities for contemporary artists •Provide quality, innovative arts experiences that are part of the daily lives of Gloucester residents and visitors •Strengthen the relationships between the arts and business communities •Create exposure and economic opportunities for artists and business owners
