2. Starting out
Starting out on my magazine I wanted to create something
original but that was familiar to the Indie rock audiences so
they would be able to recognise the magazine straight away.
3. For my front cover I have attracted my audience by useing a very unique
masthead font that is likely to catch the ‘indie rock’ type of audience, I think
this because the people who enjoy indie rock are very different in the scene
of clothing and style, so I believe that they would relate to this. On the front, I
have attracted my audience by advertising incentives such as ‘free Jake Bugg
poster’ and ‘My Morning jacket CD inside’. This will attract my audience as it
involves the bands/ artist that fit into the Indie-Rock category. Also my front
cover shows articles in the Magazine based on Indie- rock, for example ‘NEED
TO KNOW ABOUT INDIE-ROCK’ and ‘most underrated artists in the Indie-Rock
scene’ are both articles of my magazine, and this is highly likely to attract
people who enjoy indie rock.
4. Also my cover star will attract the audience as his clothing
is much like what someone who likes the Indie- Rock scene
would wear. I also know the colour scheme of the
magazine, Black, Red White, will attract people who like
indie-rock music because they selected them in the
questionnaires. I also attracted my audience with the
colours I used, for example my masthead is white on top of
a black background, these colours contrast and makes the
masthead stand out more to catch the viewer’s eye.
