Why use ‘apply anything’? Allows students to apply knowledge to abstract resources  Encourages a collaborative approach to learning  Engaging, challenging, self-differentiating and social

# 4 Thinking App Petcha Kucha
LW  TASK What is Pecha Kucha? The term Petcha Kucha is Japanese for “chatter”. The presentation format was devised by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham of Klein Dytham architecture. The idea is to force the presenter to speak concisely, precisely, and clearly. Petcha Kucha presentations can only be images. The transitions from slide to slide are timed to 20 seconds, so that the presenter can't extend or limit the time.
How can Petcha Kutcha’s be used to facilitate thinking skills?
The Battle of the Somme highlights the fact the Haig’s tactics were not smart and many historians believe that the failures of this battle were due to the decisions which he made.
Haig failed to take advantage of new technology and relied on outdated methods
Why use Petcha Kucha’s? Forces pupils to select and condense information Encourages pupils to make links within their learning 3)  Builds confident presenters   4)  Quick and easily managed
Now you can become a speed geek... Speed Geeking The work of smaller groups are viewed and reviewed by the larger collective.  The Petcha Kucha’s are played without commentary. Successful presentations are self explanatory.  They are then played again with an explanation attached to each slide.
