This document discusses metrics for evaluating individuals, publications, and institutions. It begins by describing traditional bibliometrics like the impact factor and h-index, which focus only on citations. It then presents newer forms of metrics like article-level metrics (ALM), altmetrics, and usage metrics that provide a more comprehensive view. It proposes personal bibliometric profiles that integrate metrics from various sources to measure an individual's activity, visibility, impact, and usage. Visualization of networks and dashboards are suggested to interactively present these metrics. Standard identifiers and institutional webpages are recommended to reliably track individuals and provide portfolios beyond CVs.
