3. “And I saw heaven opened, and
behold, a white horse, and He who sat
on it is called Faithful and True, and
in righteousness He judges and
wages war. ”
(Revelation 19:11)
4. When Billy Graham went on the Johnny Carson show,
Carson said to him: “Billy, I bet if Jesus came back, we‟d
do him in again.” Graham‟s reply was simple: “Johnny,
He is coming back and no one will do him in…”
6. “Be sure your sins will find you out”
(Numbers 32:23)
7. “Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth
rejoice; Let the sea roar, and all it contains;
Let the field exult, and all that is in it. Then all
the trees of the forest will sing for joy Before
the Lord, for He is coming, For He is coming
to judge the earth. He will judge the world in
righteousness And the peoples in His
faithfulness. ”
(Psalm 96:11–13)
8. “Who is this who comes from Edom, With garments of glowing colors
from Bozrah, This One who is majestic in His apparel, Marching in
the greatness of His strength? “It is I who speak in righteousness,
mighty to save.” Why is Your apparel red, And Your garments like
the one who treads in the wine press? “I have trodden the wine trough
alone, And from the peoples there was no man with Me. I also trod
them in My anger And trampled them in My wrath; And their
lifeblood is sprinkled on My garments, And I stained all My raiment.
“For the day of vengeance was in My heart, And My year of
redemption has come. “I looked, and there was no one to help, And I
was astonished and there was no one to uphold; So My own arm
brought salvation to Me, And My wrath upheld Me. “I trod down the
peoples in My anger And made them drunk in My wrath, And I
poured out their lifeblood on the earth.” ”
(Isaiah 63:1–6)
9. “And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, and he
also had a sharp sickle. Then another angel, the one who has power
over fire, came out from the altar; and he called with a loud voice to him
who had the sharp sickle, saying, “Put in your sharp sickle and gather
the clusters from the vine of the earth, because her grapes are ripe.”
So the angel swung his sickle to the earth and gathered the clusters
from the vine of the earth, and threw them into the great wine press of
the wrath of God. And the wine press was trodden outside the city,
and blood came out from the wine press, up to the horses‟ bridles, for
a distance of two hundred miles. ” (Revelation 14:17–20)
10. “You continued looking until a stone was cut out without hands, and it
struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and crushed them. Then
the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were crushed all at
the same time and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors;
and the wind carried them away so that not a trace of them was found.
But the stone that struck the statue became a great mountain and
filled the whole earth. ” (Daniel 2:34–35)
11. Judgment Given to the Son
“For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all
judgment to the Son” (John 5:22)
“For just as the Father has life in Himself, even so He gave to the
Son also to have life in Himself; and He gave Him authority to
execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man. ” (John 5:26–27)
12. The First Promise After the Ascension
“They also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand
looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken
up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way
as you have watched Him go into heaven.””
(Acts 1:11)
13. The First Direct Prophecy in Scripture
“It was also about these men that Enoch, in the seventh generation
from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord came with many
thousands of His holy ones, to execute judgment upon all, and to
convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which they have done
in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners
have spoken against Him.”” (Jude 14–15)
15. Contrasts in Revelation 19
Believers in Christ Nonbelievers of Christ
Marriage supper of the Lamb Supper of God for the slain
Response of praise Response of rejection / rebellion
Reward of white linen robe Reward of death
16. The Four-Fold Hallelujah
“After these things I heard something like a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying,
“Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God; because His judgments are
true and righteous; for He has judged the great harlot who was corrupting the earth with her
immorality, and He has avenged the blood of His bond-servants on her.” And a second time
they said, “Hallelujah! Her smoke rises up forever and ever.” And the twenty-four elders and
the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne saying, “Amen.
Hallelujah!” And a voice came from the throne, saying, “Give praise to our God, all you His
bond-servants, you who fear Him, the small and the great.” Then I heard something like the
voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty
peals of thunder, saying, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns. “Let us
rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His
bride has made herself ready.” ” (Revelation 19:1–7)
17. The Four-Fold Hallelujah
• Revelation 19 contains the only mentions of the word “Hallelujah”
• First praise acknowledges God‟s judgment of Babylon – the
spiritual harlot and commercial kingdom of the Antichrist
• Second praise calls to attention that the nation‟s rebellion has been
overthrown
• Third praise reiterates the second and gives thanks that justice has
come
• Fourth and final praise calls out God‟s reign over His creation is
recognized worldwide
18. Heaven Opens
“After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven…”
(Revelation 4:1)
“And I saw heaven opened…” (Revelation 19:11)
Heaven opens twice in Revelation – once to symbolize the removal of the saints and
the second to speak of the coming of the saints with Christ.
19. A White Horse
“and behold a white horse…” (Revelation 19:11)
Roman generals, whenever they would win a great battle would always return
from conquering an army riding on a white horse. The white horse is thus a
symbol of Christ‟s triumph over the forces of wickedness in the world.
20. A Faithful and True Judge
“and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True…” (Revelation 19:11)
The Rider is called Faithful because He keeps His promises, and is called
True because He is the truth. Today, everyone is looking for someone who
keeps their promises, does what they say they will do and is someone that
can be trusted and believed. They don‟t have to look any further than the
Son of God.
21. A Righteous Judge and Warrior
“and in righteousness He judges and wages war.” (Revelation 19:11)
The Rider is the exact opposite of corrupt judges who pervert justice and
politicians who go to war for profit or to oppress people. This One comes
to bring about true justice and liberate the afflicted.
“The LORD is a warrior; The LORD is His name. ” (Exodus 15:3)
22. “But with righteousness He will judge the poor,
And decide with fairness for the afflicted of the
earth; And He will strike the earth with the rod of
His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He will
slay the wicked. Also righteousness will be the belt
about His loins, And faithfulness the belt about
His waist. And the wolf will dwell with the lamb, And
the leopard will lie down with the young goat, And
the calf and the young lion and the fatling together;
And a little boy will lead them. ”
(Isaiah 11:4–6)
23. Penetrating Eyes of Fire
“His eyes are a flame of fire.” (Revelation 19:12)
“The Lord is in His holy temple; the Lord‟s throne is in heaven; His
eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men. The Lord tests the
righteous and the wicked, And the one who loves violence His soul
hates. Upon the wicked He will rain snares; Fire and brimstone and
burning wind will be the portion of their cup. ” (Psalm 11:4–6)
24. Many Crowns
“and on His head are many diadems” (Revelation 19:12)
A diadem is a ruler‟s crown. In this case, they are worn by Jesus to
signify His royal rank and regal authority. „Many‟ indicates His
collecting of all the rulers‟ crowns, signifying that He alone is the
sovereign ruler of the earth. Collecting the crown of a vanquished king
was customary in the ancient world.
25. An Unknown Name
“and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself.”
(Revelation 19:12)
Knowledge of a name is in antiquity associated with the power of the
god. When a name becomes known, then the power is shared with
those to whom the disclosure is made. On His return, Jesus does not
share His power/rule with anyone.
26. A Robe Dipped in Blood
“He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood.” (Revelation 19:13)
“Why is Your apparel red, And Your garments like the one who
treads in the wine press? “I have trodden the wine trough alone, And
from the peoples there was no man with Me. I also trod them in My
anger And trampled them in My wrath; And their lifeblood is
sprinkled on My garments, And I stained all My raiment” – Isaiah 63.
27. The Word of God
“and His name is called the Word of God.” (Revelation 19:13)
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
Word was God. . . . And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us,
and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father,
full of grace and truth. ” (John 1:1,14)
28. “For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and
the city will be captured, the houses plundered, the women
ravished and half of the city exiled, but the rest of the people will
not be cut off from the city. Then the Lord will go forth and fight
against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle. In
that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in
front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be
split in its middle from east to west by a very large valley, so that
half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half
toward the south. You will flee by the valley of My mountains, for
the valley of the mountains will reach to Azel; yes, you will flee
just as you fled before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king
of Judah. Then the Lord, my God, will come, and all the holy
ones with Him! ”
(Zechariah 14:2–5)
29. The Armies of Heaven
“And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and
clean, were following Him on white horses. ” (Revelation 19:14)
“It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for
the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. ” (Revelation 19:8)
30. God‟s Spoken Word
“From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike
down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He
treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. And
on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF
KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” ” (Revelation 19:15–16)
31. The Judgment of the Nations
“Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud
voice, saying to all the birds which fly in midheaven, “Come, assemble
for the great supper of God, so that you may eat the flesh of kings
and the flesh of commanders and the flesh of mighty men and the flesh
of horses and of those who sit on them and the flesh of all men, both
free men and slaves, and small and great.” And I saw the beast and the
kings of the earth and their armies assembled to make war against Him
who sat on the horse and against His army. ” (Revelation 19:17–19)
32. To Save a Life
“Unless those days had been cut
short, no life would have been saved;
but for the sake of the elect those
days will be cut short.” (Matthew
24:22)
"Life on Earth is at the ever-
increasing risk of being wiped out by
a disaster such as sudden global
warming, nuclear war, a genetically
engineered virus or other dangers ... I
think the human race has no future if
it doesn't go into space.“
- Stephen Hawkings
33. The Judgment of the Antichrist & False Prophet
"And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who
performed the signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who
had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his
image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire which burns with
brimstone."
(Revelation 19:20)
34. The Supper of God
“And the rest were killed with the sword which came from the mouth
of Him who sat on the horse, and all the birds were filled with their
flesh. "
(Revelation 19:21)
35. “Jesus, when He comes down,
is a man of war. Look at the
words, verse 11, “He judges
and wages war.” Look at the
words of verse 15, “From His
mouth comes a sharp sword.”
The point is that it is He who
will fight directly, personally.
The Second Coming of
Jesus: What are we looking
for? The greatest calamity in
all of human history.”
- John MacArthur
36. But I Thought God was Loving…
“Now the Lord said to Moses, “One more plague I will
bring on Pharaoh and on Egypt; after that he will let you go
from here. When he lets you go, he will surely drive you out
from here completely. . . . Now it came about at midnight that
the Lord struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from
the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the
firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the
firstborn of cattle. ”
(Exodus 11:1, 12:29)
God is love (cf. 1 John 4:8), but He also brings judgment.
37. “For after all it is only just for God to repay
with affliction those who afflict you, and to give
relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well
when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from
heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire,
dealing out retribution to those who do not
know God and to those who do not obey the
gospel of our Lord Jesus. ”
(2 Thessalonians 1:6–8)
38. Satan Bound
“Then I saw an angel coming down
from heaven, holding the key of the
abyss and a great chain in his hand.
And he laid hold of the dragon, the
serpent of old, who is the devil and
Satan, and bound him for a thousand
years; and he threw him into the abyss,
and shut it and sealed it over him, so
that he would not deceive the nations
any longer, until the thousand years
were completed; after these things he
must be released for a short time."
(Revelation 20:1-3)
39. The Sheep / Goat Judgment
“But when the Son of Man comes in His
glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will
sit on His glorious throne. “All the nations will
be gathered before Him; and He will separate
them from one another, as the shepherd
separates the sheep from the goats; and He
will put the sheep on His right, and the goats
on the left. “Then the King will say to those on
His right, „Come, you who are blessed of My
Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you
from the foundation of the world…. Then He
will also say to those on His left, „Depart from
Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which
has been prepared for the devil and his angels”
(Matthew 25:31-34, 41)
41. “For the testimony of Jesus is the
spirit of prophecy.”
(Revelation 19:10)
42. “in the future there is laid up for me
the crown of righteousness, which the
Lord, the righteous Judge, will award
to me on that day; and not only to me,
but also to all who have loved His
appearing. ”
(2 Timothy 4:8)
43. “Do homage to the Son, that He not
become angry, and you perish in the
way, For His wrath may soon be
kindled. How blessed are all who take
refuge in Him! ”
(Psalm 2:12)
