This document outlines the design of an experiential education program in Cuernavaca, Mexico for ESL professionals. The 14-day program would use experiential learning to explore themes of immigration and education through activities like homestays, school visits, and discussions with speakers. A needs assessment found that participants wanted to better understand issues like immigration, cultural issues, and U.S.-Mexico relations. The curriculum would accordingly address these topics through activities grounded in adult learning theory and designed to promote critical reflection. Program goals were to offer continuing education while fostering understanding of foreign language learners and immigrants.
