The purpose of the Exploratory Project Grants is to facilitate teaching and learning at Sinclair Community College. This project focuses on use of eTextbooks in the classroom. We will be choosing two classes to participate in this project. The following guidelines apply to the grants: Awards will be based upon the project’s potential for improving and expanding student learning and success. Priority will be given to Top 45 courses. Faculty members applying for this opportunity must be teaching two sections of the same face-to-face course Spring 2011 quarter. One course will be using an eTextbook and the other course will be used as a control group. Grant requests must be submitted by full time tenured and/or tenure track faculty. A letter of support from department chair should be included with any grant application. All projects must be completed June 12, 2011. Faculty members chosen to participate will receive a $500 stipend upon completion of grant. Reassigned time cannot be funded through these grants. The Center for Teaching and Learning and Learning Technology Support will provide all the required eReaders for faculty and students as well as other materials to complete the project. (Students will be responsible of the eTextbook.)
