Social media applications for Restaurants
2. Introduction
Social Media is on the increase in many different
area’s of business, particularly Restaurants. Using
social media to exploit restaurants, promote what
food they offer is at a high peak and places itself at a
high stature within social sites. Although Twitter &
Facebook are the most recognised social sites for
most marketing and promotional purposes there are
many other alternatives that have beneficial factors
to encourage customers to choose their restaurant
over there competitors. We have evaluated a select
few that are considered to be appropriate for Yield
Management within restaurants.
3. Foursquare.
Foursquare is the prominent locality centered social network
site that offers an overabundance of openings and opportunities
for restaurants in this instance both immense and minor in size.
People use Foursquare to check into locations they’ve visited
by using the app on their mobile phones. Once they’ve checked
into a location, it can be shared with their foursquare friends.
This is where restaurants are on foursquare have the
advantage from being on the podium as users’ friends see
where they’re checking in to eat could conceivably influence
them to do the same based on the endorsements of their
trusted connections (friends and users of Foursquare).

5. Google+
Commonly known as Google places but due to
Google Inc collaborating their social sites into
Google+ have many beneficial attributes. Google+ is
one of the most popular social websites due to the
general popularity of Google. Google+ has great
importance for Restaurants who wish to use social
media. Having many similarities to Facebook,
Google+ has the advantage of containing all the
information you need about restaurants, from
pictures of the restaurants, contact information,
menus to customer reviews allows users to see if the
restaurant is suited to there taste.
6. Yelp
With over 100 million viewers it would be a bad
move for a restaurants not willing to promote there
restaurant on Yelp. It can be used as a search
engine for many different categories which includes
reviews, ratings, pictures to influence viewers to go
there. However reviews or ratings may influence
what the viewer will do, for example, if a restaurant
has a negatve mage viewer are less likely to visit the
restaurant.
