5. Strategic Technology Plan
Strategy I:
Create a single, system-wide suite of online
teaching and learning tools that provides all
Washington students with easy access to
“anywhere, anytime” learning.

7. WAOL supports
• Single ANGEL license for 22 colleges, plus
pooled enrollment system
• Blackboard Collaborate for all colleges
• Tegrity for all colleges
• NW eTutoring Consortium
• Professional development for all tools
• Open resources
…..saving our system $6 million/year
8. Why Tegrity?
• Cloud based, web powered
• Multiple delivery modes/options
• Reporting Capabilities
• Relatively low cost of entry (equipment)
• Student Recording
• Live Webcast
• Mobile options
10. Tegrity
Our Deployment
• Unlimited access for all colleges, all
students, all faculty
• Unlimited storage
• Each college has its own license
• Integrated with college LMS
(ANGEL, Moodle, MoodleRooms, Bb 9.1, Canvas)
• Statewide registration system
11. Tegrity
• Originally purchased for traditional
lecture capture
• Flipped Classroom Model
• Student Feedback
• Use Outside LMS
12. Additional Uses:
• Record in classroom, office, or home
• Student work feedback
• Student recordings (public speaking example)
• Tech Support/Student workers
• Proctoring (Tacoma Example)
• Linking in LMS and external
• Replace more expensive, complicated screen capture
21. How Does It Work?
• Colleges that want to enroll students in the
shared course enter a unique WAOL ID number
in the class record each quarter.
• The WAOL database captures the student
enrollments and manages the capacity.
• Section 1 fills first, then section 2, etc.
22. How Does It Work? Division of Labor
• Students “belong” to the college where
they enroll:
• Support services
• Transcripts
• Degree or certificate
• Faculty “belong” to the college that writes
their contract:
• Wages
• Benefits
• Evaluation
