7. Abu Bakr Siddique (R.A) was a thin man with white
skin. Tabari relates from Ayesha(R.A) her description of
Abu Bakr:
“He was a man with fair skin, thin, emaciated,
with a sparse beard, a slightly hunched frame, sunken
eyes and protruding forehead, and the bases of his
fingers were hairless”

13. The Holy Qur'an describes it as follows
“When the disbelievers drove him out; he had
no more than one companion. They were two
in the cave. And he said to his companion:
‘Have no fear for Allah is with us ’. Then Allah
sent down His peace upon him”. (9:40)

15. On the occasion of Tabuk expedition Hadrat Abu Bakr
(R.A.) brought everything that he possessed. When the
Holy Prophet (Sallallahu 'alaihi wa Sallam) asked him,
"What did you leave for your family?" Abu Bakr (R.A.)
said, "I have left for them Allah and his Prophet". Even
Hadrat Umar (R.A.) admitted that he could never hope
to surpass Abu Bakr (R.A.) in his sacrifice for the cause
of Allah and Islam.

20. AS A CALIPH
After his election as the Caliph, Sayyiduna Abu
Bakr (radi Allahu anhu) addressed the Muslims with
these words:
“Obey me as long as I obey Allah and His Rasul (sallal
laahu alaihi wasallam). If I disobey Allah and His Rasul
(sallal laahu alaihi wasallam), you are free to disobey
me”
Events of that Era
22. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (radi Allahu anhu) fell ill at this time
and passed away on the 21st of Jamadi-ul-Aakhir 13 A.H.
(22 August 634). His rule lasted 2 years and 3 months. He
was 63 years old.

24. Lessons From Their Life
He wore ordinary clothes and his meals were very
simple. He attended to house-hold work and would
go out at night and seek the poor and destitute.
Humility and modesty were the keynotes of his
character. He often fasted during the day and spent
the whole night in Salaah and meditation. He was a
great orator and a master of genealogy . In personal
life, he was a Saint. He used all his powers to promote
the interest of Islam and the good of people.
