9. Hex Web Layouts Automated PSD Templates
There are only few things you should know before start using actions:
You can resize template and individual layers/groups to any size but keep number
of layers in template and their names as they are in order to use actions. Use Resize
Hexagons action to resize only hexagon shapes which are creating layout without to
change document size. After placing images in layout you can rasterize layers if you
want (actually groups) and then to rename them.
Use actions with Hexagons in name with appropriate template (action name must
match template name) to place images in layout. Do not forget to duplicate template
first.
Use actions with Rasterize in name to merge and rasterize groups with image layers
and vector placeholders below to which images are clipped.
Replace Image action is there in case you want to replace already placed image.
Image to replace must be on Smart Object layer and you must select layer manually
before running action.

14. Rasterize Layers
After placing all required images in layout you can use Generator (File > Generate
> Image Assets) in Photoshop CC or to rasterize all layers using actions at the
bottom with Rasterize in name. It is important to not rename groups (folders)
before running Rasterize actions. This group of actions requires exact number of
groups: Image 1, Image 2 and so on. Content
inside groups (image_xx and placeholder_xx)
will be merged and rasterized. Merged layer
will get group name: Image 1, Image 2 and so
on regardless of individual layer names inside
groups. It is easy to determine which action
to play: number in action name must match
number in template name or simply count how
many hexagons you have in layout (I assume
that you won’t change number of hexagons in
template).
