Project: Social Media Saral
Introduction

        A social media consultancy, content creation, documentation and training project for NGOs,
        social enterprises and MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises), specially those
        operating in non-metro, tier two cities and towns of India, to provide them online identity,
        help them showcase their work, and build their staff capacity, so that they can derive benefit
        from the use of social media, digital and online communications.

Objectives:

        (1) To create a basic social media portfolio and online communication strategy to help local
            entities become a part of global online community.
        (2) Capacity building of an entity’s staff by providing them practical training and interactive
            workshops on social media.

Social Media and its benefits

                                          Social Media is a collection of simple, freely available, easy
                                          to learn internet based tools and strategies which anyone can
                                          use to get connected to people all over the country and the
                                          world. This helps in finding bigger platforms and better
                                          opportunities for multiple purposes. With social media
                                          portfolio an entity would be able to find bigger online
                                          market, platform to showcase their work across nation &
                                          world.

                                      In spite of the easy availability of the technology required for
                                      social media, like computers, internet, scanners, printers etc.,
                                      many organizations still have not started using it because of
                                      various myths and perceptions about internet and technology.
The project aims at addressing each of these road blocks, demystifying pre conceived notions and
simplifying social media.

Main activities
The project is conducted in house over 7-8 working days under four broad heads 1) Social Media
Strategy 2) Implementation 3) Creation of Content for Social Media Portfolio 4) Staff Training. By

the end of this project an organization / establishment would be able to have a digital identity of its
own and be able to connect to global online audience.

Cost and Logistics requirement

       The minimum cost of this activity is Rs.25, 000 for small entities in tier two cities. The price
        may go up depending upon size of the entity and volume of work.
       Cost of travel (from Delhi to city/town where organization is based), budget accommodation,
        food and local travel for one or two persons for duration of project is extra.
       The project would have to be conducted on site by working closely with the organization
        staff.
       The organization should preferably arrange for computers, internet connection, and projector
        for its staff. However, we also carry our own equipment.
