2. Introduction
The computer market in Nepal has been ever-growing. More and
more consumers feel the need to have a computer at their disposal,
but the majority of them, have a tight budget.
Many consumers buy computers with old microprocessors (like the
outdated, refurbished Intel Core2Duo) thinking it is their only choice
for a budget computer. And they end up loosing out on
performance, a nice, reliable computer experience.
The few consumers who need a computer for performance-
intensive tasks ranging from image editing to coding, to intensive
animation, end up paying a very high price for their computer.
3. A look at AMD
AMD has a history of making next-generation technology accessible
to millions, bringing feature-rich computing solutions to the world at
the right price.
AMD launched two series of processors during the late 2011 and
early 2012, called the AMD FX series and AMD Fusion series.
The FX, came in with the world’s first 8-core CPU and clocks as high
as 4.6 Ghz. It became ideal for heavy multi-taskers, extreme gamers,
overclockers and generally professional users.
The Fusion, a whole new technology aimed at the next generation
of computers and foe now, the general public. Further details on the
AMD Fusion APU follow.
4. The Fusion series, APU
Since the invention of the first commercial microprocessor, nearly 40 years
ago, computers use processors mainly based on the x86 architecture,
called “CPU”. But today’s computer not only needs a CPU, but it essentially
requires a “GPU” (Graphics Processing Unit)as well. As the name applies, it
is responsible for images(and video) we see on our screens.
Intel CPUs come with a GPU fitted in Intel-compatible Motherboards. But do
not perform good enough for demanding graphics. Requiring dedicated
Graphics Cards.
THE Fusion APU, is a different story. An “Accelerated Processing Unit”, is
the combination of CPU and GPU. With a powerful CPU based on the FX
series, and (World’s graphics leader) ATI Radeon GPUs, the AMD fusion APU
delivers everything essential for a day-to-day Computer.

6. REASON #1: They’re a no-compromise solution:
The APU is powerful, able to run anything you throw at it, video rendering,
compression, coding, extreme games, Full High Definition & 3D together.
Oh did we also mention that it multi-tasks with ease?
Never compromise:
Full HD + 3D,
Right out of the box.
7. REASON #2: They’re based on a new,
advanced architecture.
“The new chips incorporate a redesigned processing core called “Jaguar” as well as other design
advances that help it dramatically improve performance compared with prior generation chips while
improving battery life.” – Kirk Ladendorf, Austin American-Statesman “Top Local Business Stories of the
Week: AMD’s Bet”, 25 May 2013
This new breed of processors are what leading technology partners
are bidding to use in their upcoming products. From the Sony
PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One, to software like Adobe® Flash,
Microsoft® Windows 8, Sony Vegas® Pro. Leading manufacturers of
Laptops and tablets(Acer, Lenovo, Samsung, Vizio, HP and many
more) using the AMD APUs as their processors.
Next Generation technologies like accurate Facial Recognition,
Augmented Realities, Biometric Recognition, true Cloud Computing,
Beyond HD-3D Experience and Natural UI through gestures are
being supported by the HSA, AMD’s APU architectural design.

8. REASON #3: They beat the competition where it
really matters to consumers – their Budget.
Why this is significant is price. Simply put, these SoCs are cheap. The embedded system versions of them will run
between $39 and $72 and these retail chips should be cheaper. There is nothing in the upcoming Haswell lineup
that will be able to compete with these chips at these prices and Bay Trail is six months away. – Tom Luongo, Seeking
Alpha “AMD’s Dual Release Targets Intel’s Weakness”, 24 May 2013
Best of all, AMD processors are much more affordable than its competition.
Costs of every average PC goes down when compared with an Intel™ based
processor: Up to 50%. (price comparisons are made in the following slides.)
Never settle for under-powered or Old Systems!
