3. the brief
develop an installation to

the company.
project mutation
4. the brief
the installation should be
designed in order to not
consume any resource in
use (i.e. Electric energy
from the grid and water).
the cost for manufacture
and installation should
be within the total budget
of no more than £15,000
project mutation
6. the setting
the setting, being next to
a bus gar and Uxbridge’s
tube station, is very
urban. the dominance of
the builings’ geometric
lines makes the area look
cold and static.
the installation should
mark the presence of
Coca-Cola Enterprises,
portray the message of
sustainability, and revive
the setting.

10. mutation
“mutation”, made of
Bamboo layers, represents
an abstraction of the
Coca-Cola bottle. The
blend between Coca-Cola’s
brand identity, reflected in
the adoption of the bottle’s
shape, and the project’s
adoption of nature
elements, made clear by
the use of bamboo,
reflects the company’s
future sustainability vision.
project mutation
11. the installation provides
an interactive feature:
the enterprise’s
employees and Uxbridge
residents can rotate the
bamboo panels to create
various organic shapes
that diverge from the
initial Coca-Cola bottle
design. from DNA
structure to a tree, the
possibilities of creating
new shapes out of the
“mutation” installation
are unlimited.

14. mutation
the bamboo panels,
inspired by Coca-Cola’s
graphic identity, are
flipped from one layer to
another to create the
infinity symbol as seen
from the top view.
in short, the “mutation”
installation provides an
organic, appealing, and
interactive concept, one
that projects Coca-Cola’s
environmental and social
sustainability values.

project mutation
bamboo not only
portrays nature
aesthetically, but also
is suitable for
outdoors and can
endure severe
weather conditions.
the metal tube
ensures a solid
structure for the
installation and is
fixed to the floor by an
underground concrete
