6. DCI Walker- Antony Clark
DCI Walker was our main character in our 2
minute opening, alongside PC Hunt and PC Clark.
7. DCI Walker- Antony Clark
DCI Walker was our main character in our 2
minute opening, alongside PC Hunt and PC Clark.
DCI Walker was unable to work on the case involved with our storyline due to a personal
relationship with the victim so was mourning the death of young Daisy Walker and
awaiting for any news of the suspects through his colleagues.

We used Antony Clark â a drama teacher at
Salesian School - to play this character.
After doing research on
home-made thriller films, we
found the main problem was
not effectively replicating
adult detectives due to not
looking old enough

We had to find inspiration for
the personality and costume
The best way to do this was
watch other films that had
similar storylines and characters
to our film
10. We first looked at Agent Strahmâs scene in
Saw IV when he is looking through papers
involved with the âgamesâ.
11. We first looked at Agent Strahmâs scene in
Saw IV when he is looking through papers
involved with the âgamesâ.
Despite this film being in a different genre, we looked at Special Agent Peter Strahmâs
character for inspiration due to their similarities with working with cases. Both
characters work alone to solve a problem â one way or another.

We tried to mimic the shots that are circled as we liked how Agent Strahm did this
before showing his anger at the case. In order for this to work we did the same
with our character right before he stored into the evidence room â fed up of
waiting for his colleagues.

Whereas in Saw IV, Agent Strahm proceeds to smash up his
desk in his scene, we showed DCI Walkers anger by him
slamming the door & going into the evidence room.
14. DCI Walker: Costume- Inspiration and Research
The inspiration for
DCI Walkers costume
was based around the
David Fincher film:
âSe7enâ starring Brad
Pitt & Morgan
Freeman
We copied this look
with our character as
we think it looked
quite professional
and we wanted to
make the detective
look as effective as
possible

The age of the detectives was another
important aspect of the characters looks as in
all of the thriller films we researched the
detectives were adults â not teenagers
pretending to be an older age.

Typical iconography for detectives is coffee to
suggest theyâve been working hard & are tired. We
wanted to show this in our film as we wanted to
make it as similar to existing thriller films as possible
17. PC Hunt & PC Clark- Edgar Walker and Conor Sawenko
Our other two main characters were PC Clark and
PC Hunt â colleagues of DCI Walker
18. PC Hunt & PC Clark- Edgar Walker and Conor Sawenko
Our other two main characters were PC Clark and
PC Hunt â colleagues of DCI Walker
PC Hunt and PC Clark are shown closing down the case after the chief said they were
getting no where after months of searching. PC Hunt and PC Clark had no emotional
connection to Daisy Walker the victim and therefore could work on the case on DCI
Walkerâs behalf.

I donât think this casting worked as well
as DCI Walker as the age of the actors
made it look unbelievable that they
were a similar age to Antony Clark

If we redid our filming we

22. PC Hunt & PC Clark: Costumes- Inspiration and Research

We wanted to mimic the costumes from

however there was costume problems
due to the age of our characters and
there lack of smart clothes (suits).

After watching scenes from âSe7enâ we
also discovered that documents/folders
were typical iconography for detectives.
26. Daisy Walker
Daisy Walker doesnât actually physically feature in
our two minute film as the film is set a few
months after she was murdered.
27. Daisy Walker

looking through showing him & Daisy together
when they were kids.

If we redid this film, or parts of

up-to-date image of her both
on the evidence board and in
DCI Walkers pile of images.
29. - Briefly shown on the evidence board
Darren Smith was one of our suspects for the murder of
Daisy Walker. In our two minute film he was briefly shown in

After filming all our clips, we realised as we
were taking down the evidence board that all of
our suspects were apparently 7 foot tall! This
was a mistake with Photoshop when we were
editing our own photos onto the traditional
mugshot backgrounds.

After me & Anna went to Woking police
station for location research, we decided to
create an evidence board as this was
traditional mise en scene for detective
offices.

character & the evidence board to link
them together.
