5. Designing walkable neighborhoods ATHENS, GA Fall 2011
The goal of this project was to construct a redevelopment plan in the Atlanta Highway, Timothy
Road and Epps Bridge Parkway. The priorities of the redevelopment plan were to:
1. Increase residential density to bring more people within a walkable distance of Timothy Elementary
school, retail, and office facilities.
2. Increase the amount of affordable housing, focusing on apartments and condominium buildings.
3. Realign Atlanta Highway/Timothy Road intersection to improve traffic flow.
4. Add roads where needed to improve connectivity.
5. Improve pedestrian and bicycle connectivity through the addition of paved, multi-use trails.

6. THE GACDS PLAN ATHENS, GA Fall 2010
The Plan
The plan strives to provide office
space to house the Georgia
Association of Conservation District
Supervisors (GACDS) and associated
organizations. The proposed design
allows public access to walking trails,
community agriculture, and
demonstration gardens. Signs and
exhibition areas offer passive eduction
opportunities regarding wildlife species
and conservation tecniques; additionally,
dedicated conference rooms, pavilions,
and demonstration areas allow for in
depth workshops. The overall design
adheres to the principles embodied by
the GACDS by connecting academic
enrichment to the natural environment.

7. CCWA LAND MANAGEMENT PLAN MARROW, GA Fall 2010
The Plan
The plan emphasizes land conservation and
an opportunity for the Clayton County
Water Authority to make an economic
profit. The major components of the plan
include land conservation, recreational
opportunity, residential development, mixed
use development, and a utility educational
facility. There is economic opportunity for
the CCWA site with mixed use and
residential development, while still allowing
for most of the property to remain
forested. The mixed use and single family
neighborhoods on the property all have
access to major roads and are designed
in an efficient manner to keep the natural
integrity of the land. The design of the
forested area that runs throughout the site
emphasizes an organic shape to allow for
riparian buffers and wildlife corridors.

8. CCWA SW CORNER LAND MANAGEMENT PLAN MARROW, GA Fall 2010
The Plan
The major themes of this design were to include transit-oriented-development with a population that can support a rail station. This design offers a
variety of development, but is primarily mixed use. There are many office and commercial buildings mixed with residential. With this type of density
and mixed use, congestion and automobile traffic can be a problem. Attempting to alleviate these issues, I have laid out as little pavement as possible,
while still providing manageable automobile circulation and ample parking. The most important aspect of this design is to create a uniquely pedestrian
friendly environment. The central portion of the design, east of the station platform and in-between the three round-abouts is a pedestrian mall. The
auto independent mall is achieved with a bridge that connects the north and south round-abouts and parking decks located on both ends. The lower
left part of the design has a hotel with commercial surrounding it, as well as two apartments. The upper left corner of the design is office mixed with
medium density residential. The lower right part of the design is a research/office park. The middle section of the design has the two parking decks
and a pedestrian mall with high density mixed use. The far right side of the design is single family detached lots with apartments in the middle.

9. ATHENS BIKE SHARE FEASIBILITY STUDY Athens, GA Spring 2012
The bike share feasibility study was part of my
thesis and ArcGIS was integral to
determining number of bikes and number and
placement of stations. The graphic to the right
shows an appropriate radius drawn around the
center of Athens to use to determine census
tracts to conduct a population study and
determine the right amount of bikes and stations.
The bottom three graphics show the factors
used in a GIS weighted overlay to determine the
station placement. The factors included
residential density, bike lanes, important cultural
landmarks, grocery stores, vicinity to bus stops,
popular destination points, slope, and
governmentally owned property.

11. 3D MODELING CORRIDOR STUDY CHARLOTTESVILLe, VA 2012
This is a project I worked on to show various modal circulation around transit stops in a densely populated urban environment. The above illustration shows eighth,
quarter and half mile buffers around the center of the densest development. The image on the upper next page shows the auto circulation of the area. It includes a
half mile buffer of circulation within the site (red) the centers and through corridors intended to have a faster posted speed around the site (blue). The image on the
lower next page includes other modes of circulation through the site including freight (purple), public transit (blue), bicycle (orange), and pedestrian (green).
