3) The scenes cut rapidly between close-ups of Jess in a dark setting and shots of Sarah surrounded by blood, with Latin voiceovers, ominous music, and dark lighting throughout to set the ominous and mysterious tone of the film.
1. HI EXAMINER.
Padamoose Productions „Esther‟. The
gummy bear won‟t be in the shots. It‟s
just hard to upload 60 odd black and
white pictures that all look the same
without some kind thing to set them
apart from each other.
2. Long, tracking shot of a front door. Credits in white, „cracked‟ font
appear in the bottom left hand corner in time to slow, music-box
effect music. The shot starts at the beginning of a path and follows it
down. The lighting is dark, with only streetlights and the light from
the window to give light. Bad film/shaky camera effect. 30 seconds.
3. Fade in/out dissolve into an establishing high angle shot of a pentagram
on a wooden surface in a loft, surrounded by candles and a mirror. There
is dark lighting, with only candles and an off-camera artificial light
source to give it light. The music continues. 2-3 seconds.
4. Fade in/out dissolve into the production company logo „Padamoose
Productions‟ in a cracked font. The production logo is white text on a
black background. The music continues. 3 seconds.
5. Mid-shot of Jess putting a candle in front of a mirror in the loft. She
faces away from the camera. The lighting is dark, with most lighting
coming from the candle. The music continues. 4 seconds.
6. Fade in/out dissolve to studio credit „Waxy Studios‟ in a handwritten
type font. The text is black, on a static TV-like image, with a „bad film‟
effect on it to make it appear to move. The music continues. 3 seconds.
7. Fade in/out dissolve to a close up of a rocking horse, which rattles giving
diegetic sound. The shot then tracks to a close up of Jess, only her face is
really shown. She wears dark clothing and a cape. The lighting is still
dark, the shot is in the loft and the music continues. 3 seconds.
8. A long shot of Sarah on a sofa in a living room. The artificial lighting of
lamps gives a „homely‟ effect. She wears casual clothing. The shot then
tracks her as she crosses the room. The music continues. 10 seconds.
9. Close up of Jess placing down another candle in the loft, next to a bowl.
Only her hand and the candle can be seen. The lighting is still dark with
the candles giving off the glow. The music continues. 4 seconds.
10. Cut to a mid shot of Sarah opening a fridge door, to reveal lots of
bottles and stuff that goes in a fridge. The main light is on in the
kitchen. She picks up a bottle, closes to door and walks back towards
the living room. The music changes/progresses in speed. 3 seconds.
11. Mid shot of Jess opening a book. The horse can still be seen in the
corner. The lighting is still dark and she‟s still in a loft. The music
continues. 4 seconds.
12. Mid-shot of Sarah as she enters the living room. Artificial lighting. Music
continues. The camera follows her from a low angle until she stops in
the middle of the room and looks concerned. The lighting does get
darker here. 5 seconds.
13. Extreme close up of Jess. The lighting around her is completely dark, so
dark that only her face is visible. High angled shot. The music pace
quickens and a voice over of a Latin verse begins. 3 seconds.
14. Close up/mid shot of Sarah as she falls to her knees. Artificial lighting at
a low key. The music continues and so does the voiceover. 1-2 seconds.
15. Rapidly cut to the high angled extreme close up of Jess as the
voiceover and music continue. 2 seconds.
16. Rapidly cut to a tracking mid shot of Sarah falling to the floor. The
music, voiceover and lighting continue as before. Blood is apparent
on Sarah‟s clothing. 1 second.

music and voiceover as before. 2 seconds.
18. Rapidly cut to mid shot of Sarah falling from a different angle.

27. Rapidly cut to extreme close up of Jess. At the end of the
voiceover, she looks up. The lighting is as before. The music
continues. 2 seconds.
28. Mid shot/ long shot of Sarah laying dead on the floor. The lighting is
the same as before but the music stops. 3 seconds.
29. Fade to black. Title of the film „Esther‟ appears as white, handwriting-
esque font on a black background. 5-6 seconds.
30. Mid shot of Hannah knocking on the door and opening it. The lighting
is from a main light and is artificial. She wears normal attire and
asks “hey Jess, how are you?” 5 seconds.
