w Obtain a building permit from the proper regional authority
(city, county, state or federal).
w Request an inspection of the trench by the regional authority.
w Add sand and the conduit for electric and telephone.
w Request another inspection of the trench by the regional
authority.

MPT 2500 Rugged-i TM
Ultra Power-Efficient Wireless Solar Video Surveillance Camera
FULLY SELF-CONTAINED WIRELESS VIDEO CAMERA
Traditional video surveillance cameras have been limited in their range of installation by the infrastructure
required to support operation. The Rugged-i is a fully self-contained, solar-powered wireless outdoor video
camera which allows for placement practically anywhere because it is not constrained by wires or cables. The
MicroPower wireless architecture was designed from the ground up to overcome reliability and video quality
issues typical of standard wireless IP camera designs and to operate efficiently under congested wireless
environments. These features result in significantly lower installation and acquisition costs over solutions that
require trenching or large external solar panels.
ULTRA POWER-EFFICIENT GREEN TECHNOLOGY
The Rugged-i is powered by an integrated solar cell array that reduces power consumption by as much as 90 percent, enabling the ability to use small solar
panels. Because the solar panels are designed for 20 times the actual camera power consumption, this truly “green” camera solution functions in overcast
and inclement weather conditions. An embedded battery allows for continuous operation 365/7/24.
EFFICIENT, FRIENDLY WIRELESS OPERATION
MicroPower’s energy-efficient TrustLinx™ technology wirelessly transfers video more efficiently than standard wireless cameras. It has been designed and
tested for reliable wireless video transmission, while minimizing wireless collisions. The TrustLinx technology focuses on searching for empty airspace before
transmission, creating a friendly environment to other wireless or POS devices to operate without hindrance. In addition, utilizing a hub and spoke
architecture, MicroPower video transmission is coordinated between multiple cameras, assuring targeted frame rate performance rather than multiple
wireless cameras transmitting randomly which can create chaos in the wireless environment.
QUICK SURVEILLANCE DEPLOYMENT
As many as six Rugged-i cameras can be networked with the MicroPower wireless video hub, the MiniHub™. The wireless connection range between the
Rugged-i camera and the MiniHub has been tested to reliably operate in distances up to one-half of a mile using omni-directional antennas. The hub, in turn,
controls each camera in the network, decodes the video, and transfers the footage to a network video recorder managed by a video management system.

MPT 2700 MiniHub TM
Wireless Video Hub
HIGH-PERFORMANCE CENTRAL HUB
The MPT 2700 MiniHub™ is an indoor central hub for use with MicroPower Technologies’ line of wireless
video cameras. The MiniHub is the centralized traffic coordinator between a wired LAN and the wireless
camera, such as the MPT 2500 Rugged-i™ solar wireless video surveillance camera. Together, the MiniHub
and the Rugged-i truly eliminate the need for wires for both power and data. The MiniHub incorporates MicroPower’s TrustLinx™ technology, a proprietary
protocol which allows for efficient use of video transport, enabling reliable connection, even in heavily congested wireless environments. The MiniHub
operates as a “good citizen” allowing other neighboring wireless systems to continue to be operational even with video transmission occurring nearby.
STANDARDS-BASED SYSTEM
The MiniHub is contained in a high-quality aluminum enclosure with a 10/100/1000 Ethernet port and three antenna connectors. The hub includes two
2.2dBi gain omni-directional 2.4GHz antennas and a 2.2 dBi gain 900MHz antenna which directly attach to the enclosure. Supporting the MicroPower
Technologies TrustLinx wireless air interface, the MiniHub provides control and
coordination between all cameras which have been programmed to associate
with it. It then presents the cameras as individual devices as TCP ports within the
same IP address or as individual video streams. Video is then streamed over the
Ethernet port to standard video management systems using multiple industry
standard video streaming protocols.
EFFICIENT, FRIENDLY WIRELESS OPERATION
MicroPower’s energy-efficient TrustLinx technology wirelessly transfers video
more efficiently than standard wireless cameras. It has been designed and tested
for reliable wireless video transmission, utilizing 10 percent less airspace than
other wireless video alternatives minimizing wireless collisions. The TrustLinx
technology focuses on searching for empty airspace before transmission, creating
a friendly environment to other wireless or POS devices to operate without
hindrance. In addition, utilizing a hub and spoke architecture, MicroPower video
transmission is coordinated between multiple cameras, assuring targeted frame
rate performance rather than multiple wireless cameras transmitting randomly
which can create chaos in the wireless environment.
RAPID DEPLOYMENT
Rapid setup and immediate network deployment of the MiniHub and associated cameras gives security organizations and professionals a powerful weapon
to combat threats and crime. The MiniHub can be placed inside a structure with internal or external antennas, or can be mounted outside with optional
NEMA-rated hardware. Whether called upon to secure public events, protect a property’s perimeter or to provide video situational awareness, the MiniHub
wireless video hub is the right asset for the mission.
