Game Title Devil May Cry 3
Provide detailed descriptions from chosen examples that establish… Clearly state what production technique(s) you think have
been used to create specific soundtrack elements
Setting In this setting sounds of ringing with footsteps upon the floor which changes angle
as he turns around, as we’re following his sound
Sounds of Dante kicking his chair and desk to show his rash nature.
With the sound of ringing switching its positioning
on the ears it gives a sense of VR as we can hear it
as we would in real life.
These sounds could have been reproduced by
someone making similar actions or sounds that
would be made from doing similar actions to him.
Mood From Dante’s cocky and devilish tone he speaks in, we can see that he takes orders
from no one and he doesn’t worry about anything.
When he breaks from the hold he’s in we can see his power in comparison to what
he fights.
From the moment Dante speaks we can already
assume his attributes, what he’s like as a person,
what his attitudes are, this is done by him telling
how much he lacks fear with his cocky phrases
said.
Game genre We can see the game is a beat/shoot ‘em up which requires killing mass amounts of
enemies who oppose Dante.
Using the fast paced fighting from the video this also shows the genre of the game
too.
With the soundtrack being a metallic rock we can
tell that this game is fast paced, with addition to
all the taunts and slashes of Dante we can also
add to this.
Narrative The cutscene is Dante talking, voiced by Reuben Langdon in a cocky tone filled with
taunts and general disowning phrases when fighting enemies, which is portrayed
well by the voice actor.
Recorded within a soundtrack, it made it easier to
change how they wanted the voicing to sound
within the room, changing the dry/wetness or the
pan.
