Why do married women cheat with married men? Well, there are different reasons why and who

I don't have any stats on this, but it's not much of a stretch to say that many affairs happen
between men and women who are married to someone else. This is especially the case when it
comes to married women. If they have an affair, they seem to prefer that it's with a man who is
married himself. Why is this the case?
He is in her social network
Married people tend to hang around other married people. You don't typically see a married
woman hanging out with a bunch of single ladies (though she may occasionally), she will spend
her time around other married women from her neighborhood, church, workplace, charitable
organizations, etc. Married women simply have more things in common with each other. They're
raising kids, involved in the community, juggling family and the workplace and so forth.
There are men around married women ­ their husbands, of course, and the husbands of their
friends! Other married men are apart of a married woman's social network so she's likely to be
in regular contact with these men and from that contact affairs will sometimes jump off!
He is in the same boat
Relationships of any kind are usually formed due to shared experiences or a shared perspective
on life. Opposites attract, but people are still most comfortable around others who have similar
backgrounds or are in similar situations. A married woman is in a different place in her life
compared to a single gal. She has certain responsibilities and obligations that a single woman
does not have. A married man is in the same situation.
He has the same issues going on in his marriage
What increases the likelihood of an affair: contact and shared drama.
If a married woman is regularly interacting with a married man and they both are having issues in
their respective marriages, and they are sharing these issues with each other, a closeness can
develop between them and this can lead to more. Oftentimes the contact is innocent enough.
She and he may already be friends and they spend time together; talking about their spouses,
kids, etc. But if there's drama in her marriage AND there's drama in his marriage, they share a
connection that could very well escalate to something intimate; forbidden.

Being married and raising a family can be very rewarding but it can be stressful. Marriage and
family can take a great deal away from your self­identity. You're no longer defined by your own
looks, thoughts, wants, desires, background, etc. Now you're attached to your spouse and your
kids (if you have any). Again, it's a good thing but trying to keep up appearances can weigh
heavily on anyone (both emotionally and physically) during periods in your life.
A married woman can get to a point in her life when she seeks an escape from her life as she
knows it. And a married man can be at that same point at the exact same time. Maybe they
haven't been friends for a while, it could be that they have only recently met. But it could be that
they have both felt the same way about their respective marriages and family lives ­ and once
they met and got to know each other ­ sparks can fly.
He may be from her past and represent happier times
Married women who have affairs often do so with men from their past, such as ex­boyfriends
from high school or college, etc. People grow up, go to school, get jobs and move away, but we
all know that with social media platforms like Facebook, it's easy to be reunited with those from
your past.
The married man does not have to be an ex­boyfriend (or ex­husband), he could be someone
from her past who was just an acquaintance but a chance meeting, for example, could bring
together which could lead to them becoming much closer than they ever were back in the day.
Reuniting with someone from the past can cause a woman to think back with fondness on
happier times when she was younger, "smaller", "beautiful", full of life and ambition. She is as
attracted to nostalgia as she is to that [now] married man from her past.
A married man doesn't have to live near a married woman to connect with her both emotionally
and physically. Long distance affairs happen all of the time between men and women who are
married to someone else. These affairs often happen because people from the past reunite with
each other, and feelings that they had, never knew they had, or suddenly develop lead to a
passionate, forbidden relationship.
Risks and rewards
The key to affairs between married people is that they both equally share the risks and rewards.
The married man has as much to lose as the married woman does. The "benefits" of an affair
have greater "meaning" between married people (in most cases). Married women realize that
(again, in most cases) that married men have as much to lose than single men and not as likely
to carry on an affair recklessly. This makes an affair with a married man more attractive to a

Also, married men who have affairs tend to have one affair at a time while single guys might
juggle multiple women (married or single) at a time. Though a woman realizes that a man has a
wife she can deal with that better than she can deal with a single guy who fashions himself a
player. This is why some single women willingly end up in affairs with married men...
Are you a married man? You're in demand!
If you're married you're much more likely to have an affair with a married woman, in fact, you're
much more likely to get away with having an affair with a single woman (while she knows that
you're married) even though she wouldn't accept a single guy cheating on her with another
chick!
Now, I'm not saying that you should pursue an affair if you're a happily married man (or, even if
there are issues in your marriage), but you clearly have advantages over single men which I
