1. Evidence :
Controlled use of
the camera
Throughout the construction of this trailer the
use of camera work is extremely vital and
important. It is an aspect which allows the
audience to receive a clear message not only
through applying conventions effectively but to
also translate a message through skilled
camera work. In the creation process of our
trailer i took control of the majority of the
camera work as I regarded this to be a strong
point of mine, demonstrated through various
projects, with this being said as a group we
decided to focus on key angles and shots to
assure effectiveness of our narrative.
Link to narrative:
The link between narrative and camera
work has strong correlation. I found that
by understanding the narrative well it
would lead to being able to assure the
right message is being portrayed
effectively. I found that in order to do to
show/ implement any form of camera
work it would take some research into
professional standard work. I decided to
look at my previous research on
contemporary horror film to look at
how I deconstructed there work and
use this as a bases to apply effective
camera work to professional standards

2. In order to create an ambience for a specific shop we decided to use a
phone light to gather a more shadowed effect shot. As we didn't have
professional lighting equipment available we decide to use the
technology we had available and exploit it to the best of its ability.
Resulting in creating a gloomy dark atmosphere . The camera had be
positioned at the top of the stairs over the balcony in order to appear
as a high angle with the intention to allow the characters to appear
more vulnerable to their situation. This use of the camera work not
only sends out an effective horror nature towards the audience of
vulnerability of the characters but it also links well with my research,
suggesting we where able to meet conventions of camera work within
a horror.

equilibrium through this shot

The overall impact of implementing this variety of camera work is to capture a variety of shots
through range of angles, leaving our group in a fortunate situation where we have a range of
shots to choose from.
