2. Target Audience The target audience I will be aiming my magazine at would be anyone aged 16-25 that has an interest in Heavy Metal music and its sub-genres. The audience will be mainly male dominant however it also applies to females. I have chosen to do my magazine on this genre and age group because, although there may be some magazines about this genre, there isn’t many dedicated solely to metal music and they have a very small target audience (mainly male). Whereas I'm going to try and target both sex’s between 16-25
3. Metal Hammer! Metal hammer is a magazine that comes out monthly at the cost of £3.99. It covers stories on heavy rock/metal bands and features posters, interviews and news about previous and upcoming events. This is one similar magazine to what I wish to create. As you can see Metal hammer have three different mastheads from the pictures. The ones on the left relating more to the magazine, the ones on the right relate more to the music genre.
4. Kerrang is another magazine that is similar to the one I wish to produce. It is published weekly at the cost of £1.20 however is a lot smaller than Metal Hammer. Kerrang! The magazine does a lot of poster specials and tried to attract thier audience by using different techniques such as free merchandise (CD’s) or multiple limited edition cover versions like the picture in the top right. As you can see Kerrang! Use the same Masthead for every issue, however changing its dominance on the page and its colour every now and then for special occasions.
5. Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles! This magazine is very like the magazine I am aiming to create, however it is only produced in America and Canada and some international countries including the UK, however i have been unable to find an issue of it. The closest magazine to this one is Metal Hammer. Canada | USA | International 7.99 9.99 12.99 (cnd) (usd) (usd) These are the prices of the magazine for the different countries its sold in. It is produced 10times a year. The cover of this
