4. Nature
Clear blue oceans
and rolling waves
Traveling 100,000,000 kilometers
to a far beyond land
with sparkling emerald green grass
then hearing a shriek across the lands
traveling for the cloudy blue skies
into the land
that human never discovered

5. Response
The tool I used for this one was turning a story in to a poem.
The thoughts I had about this poem wasn’t really clear... I didn’t really know how I
started writing this poem, words just suddenly popped in head. It was quite hard to end
the poem because nothing seemed to fit with the beginning of the poem and it didn’t
fit the theme either.

6. The Tree
In the dry field
Is a dry tree
“the tree”
as dry as crunchy leaves in fall

7. Response
This poem used a simile.
I got the idea for this poem when Mrs. Melhorn showed a picture that had a dry tree in
it and told us to write a poem about it. It was hard to write because I couldn’t find the
right words and the second paragraph (it’s not in here because I deleted it, but you can
find it on www.blogs.isb.ac.th/pomt).

8. Cheetah
Faster than human
Faster than an ostrich
But not faster than a car
BOOM!
A bullet
Run fast!
Run fast!
too late...

9. Response
I got the idea of this poem from watching National Geographic at home when I saw a
car chasing a lion. The tools I used for this poem is image poem and repetition.

10. Elephant in Pain
“Elephant in pain”
been tortured again
this time they win
with grins on their faces
happy with their meat
The father so angry
wanting to crush them
and another is dead...

11. Response
This is sort of the same type poem as the “Cheetah” one. It was written in the same
style (hunting animals and world issues door) as the other one. The reason I wanted to
write two was because I just wanted to write about the shooter and the animal that was
shot. How it felt for the shooter and how it felt for the animal shot.

13. Response
I got the idea of this poem when my brother was talking to his friend about their
science project and then I got the ideas of icicles and decided to write about it.
I couldn’t think of any words for the poem, so searched the internet for a picture of an
icicle and started writing the poem by describing the picture (it’s not the same picture
as the one on beside the poem).

14. The Eagle
Soaring through the sunny sky
with his SHARP eagle eyes
Chasing for some meat
With a swoop a rat is now gone

15. Response
The tools I used for this poem was the 6 room poem.
I got the ideas of this poem when I was in America and he was tying to scare me from
saying that there would be an eagle that would swoop down from the sky and would
eat me.

17. Reflection
I chose “nature” to be the theme of my poem anthology because it was one of the
words in my heart.
I think that I have improved my poetry skills a lot since 4th grade, probably because I
wrote the a lot of poems this year.
If I could do this anthology again or if I had more time, I would make the line breaks
more interesting and use better choice of words that would grab the reader’s attention.
