Developing Effective Work Procedures

This course is focused on repeatable and effective work procedure
development. If your organization does not possess or needs to update
effective, repeatable maintenance procedures then this training is for you or
someone in your staff.
Stop human induced failures, lack of repeatability in maintenance work, and
insuring when someone retires you have their knowledge in the form of
procedures is critical to the success of any organizations. Lack of effective,
repeatable procedures creates high variation in maintenance work execution.
Maintenance and Reliability leaders always talk about their best maintenance
person and how much experience they have. With effective, repeatable
procedures you would capture that experience, knowledge and skill in a
procedure.
When one has repeatable, effective procedures and a failure occurs the worst
thing that could happen is a procedure is changed or updated.

mitigate this problem
How to write a repeatable / effective maintenance procedure which are factual, easy to
understand, repeatable, and provide positive results
Known best practices in preventive, corrective, and lubrication procedure development
The process of mapping a new procedure with subject matter experts
How to write a procedure which is simple, repeatable and effective and allows for a true
continuous improvement process for maintenance work execution
How to measure the effectiveness of new process and the procedure for updating a procedure
At what knowledge and skill level a procedure should be written
Where required and potential parts are identified on a procedure
Where cautions and warnings should be posted (if a company has a requirement for procedure
development please bring it to this workshop)
Where specifications and standards are required in a procedure to insure work is accomplished
the right way the first time
Specific words which should be used to insure a procedure is short, effective, and understandable
by the maintenance person with the least amount of experience
To measure the effectiveness of all types of procedures thus allowing for a true continuous
improvement process using specific Key Performance Indicators
How to estimate total and labor hours for all procedures no matter how short or how long
Process mapping for procedure development to include roles and responsibilities (RACI / RASI)
identified
