arrest. The arrest took place in the state of Massachusetts and the charges pressed was “bilking investors” up
to 1 Billion dollars in a pyramid scheme.
According to the website MLMRankings James M. Merrill, age 53, of Ashland, co-owner of TelexFree Inc., was
arrested last Friday af ternoon in Worcester, Massachusetts. The FBI and Police also have issued a warrant f or
the arrest of co-owner Carlos N. Wanzeler, age 45, of Northborough, who is now a f ugitive on the run and
certain evidence is show that Carlos has lef t the United States to f lee to Brazil.
These two gentleman have dissapointed hundreds of thousands of distributors and customer by operating a
Ponzi Scheme and involving themselves with wire f raud.

into TelexFree’s marketing pitch by other members of their community who boasted with the large sums they

The US Securities and Exchange Commission and state Secretary of State William F. Galvin are investigating
TelexFree. The SEC f roze the company’s assets April 16 and f iled a civil suit, two days af ter the f irm f iled f or

TelexFree claimed to become an Internet telephone services corporation, but authorities say it was really a
pyramid scheme that recruited a large number of “promoters” to post ads f or its product online. The promoters
had been required to purchase into TelexFree, paying anyplace f rom about $300 to about $1,400, then have
