1. Evaluation
The use of previous real media products were used by the typical innocent character
and then a villain. This was embraced in our film by having two young males were
where delivering mail and then they were attacked by a female girl who was not
human. This use of characters is in most horror movies and the genders switch all
the time depending on the type of focus each director is trying to cover.
Another use of real media was the setting. The film was set in an abandoned,
haunted house, this idea was from the film, ‘The House At The End Of The Street’,
this film was a huge help in making our movie because we create a dark trailer which
created a good amount of suspense in which the film ‘The House At The End Of The
Street’, used low key lighting very well. Also, we used the villain to be a black object
that just appears out of nowhere and is used to scare the innocent characters.
We developed more on the character as we allow contacted between one of the
innocent characters and the villain which makes the audience more prone to watch
the film to wonder what is going to happen, but also give away some of the story line
so they are not completely left in the dark.
The changes we made to our movie is that the main characters were not females, as
sometimes females are seen to be the most scared and not as powerful as males in
horror movies so we decided to change that idea so we could go against the social
norm.
