• Sin and Satan hold people in bondage and
bring suffering, evil and death
• God is gathering together a people who,
through faith in Jesus Christ are set free
from sin and Satan and are committed to
him
• God sends them into the world in the
power of the Holy Spirit to share God’ love
and bring people back to himself, and to
bring about the redemption of all creation.

• Kingdom of God is the Big Story (Cosmic
Story) of the Bible that ties all the other
stories together

• The Perished Kingdom: Genesis 3-11

reject God’s word.
• Sin brings shame, guilt and fear.
• God comes seeking them.
• Relationships are broken and they are not
blessed. They are not in the garden.
Fellowship has been destroyed.

10. The Promised Kingdom
• The Promised Kingdom: Genesis 4-17
• God chooses a people
• God makes a promise to Abraham that he
will make his Kingdom again.
• He will give him a land
• He will bless him and through him all
nations on the earth will be blessed.

11. The Partial Kingdom
• Gen 17 – 2 Kings.
• God sets the Israelites free from slavery
• Brings them out of Egypt with mighty power
• He gives them law to rule over them and bring
blessing.
• The tabernacle is a symbol that God dwells with
his people and journeys with them.

• I will put my law in their minds and write it on
their hearts. I will be their God and they will be
my people. Jeremiah 31:33.
• My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their
God, and they will be my people. Ezekiel 37:26-

storm, casts out demons, raises the dead,
all miracles point forward to the coming
kingdom.
