PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Revelation 3:20 Theological University offers superior, multidimensional Christian
Education to men and women who pursuit a life of service to the Lord through
biblical standards of the Christian faith. We believe that comprehensive theological
education is the ground work to establish exceptional biblical formation. Therefore,
the University, its Board of Trustees, Faculty, and staff, focus their efforts to guide
students to achieve their maximum potential as we build academic excellence and
dedication to Christian education.
This can only be accomplished through quality instruction, the study of theological
concepts, the maturity and the cultivation of a spiritual life. Our programs are based on the
commitment to offer a comprehensive professional training with the latest developments in
the field of knowledge and the study of theology. Our programs seek to ensure that our
students receive the up most training which will enable them to become ethical competent
and spiritual professionals in their field of study.
Our educational philosophy is based on our founder, Dr. Narciso H. Montas who
believes that: ‘‘Without Education we are empty’ and knowledge is the tool for logic
and reasoning; we become obsolete if we do not emphasize on education”.
Education is guided by the spirit of love giving to the social spectrum, rather than
an individual competition to be at the service of mankind”.
Dr. Narciso H. Montas,
Founder of Revelation 3:20 Theological University

OUR HISTORY
Revelation 3:20 Missionary Ministry and Biblical Teachings was established in the year
2000, following a close relationship with Anchor of Salvation International an affiliate of
Faith Theological Seminary & Christian College in Tampa Florida.
In July 2006, Revelation 3:20 Theological University moved to a new administrative facility
located in Cutler Bay in Miami, Florida. Revelation 3:20 Theological University began a new
phase in education and opened its mental health therapy center in 2007, from there its
doors opened to the public with a new focus and emphasis in education.
We became interested in making education a theme for new growth in this and established
an affiliation with many scholars in order to bring our current project to fruition. Today,
we continue as a four-year Bible college offering degrees in Theology, Education, Music and
counseling. Our main campus is located in South Miami, Florida with the name of
Revelation 3:20 Theological University.
OUR COMMITMENT
We are committed and strive to prepare students to make a difference to our society by
providing an excellent academic education. We like to be inclusive by intergrading
biblical foundations and bringing together a personality, skills, and gifts for the
purpose of social empowerment wherever you live, work, or minister. We believe that
“Education with a Higher Purpose is simply life and Freedom." It is not competitive
knowledge but rather cooperative knowledge. We are committed to be a tool in
equipping and forming students that will transform the world we live in.”

National Association of Private Schools (NAPS)
Recognizing Educational Excellence
The National Association of Private Schools is a consortium of Christian Educators and
Private School Administrators from across the United States and Canada. The Association
is dedicated to recognizing and improving the spiritual and educational quality of Private
and Christian Schools, regardless of size.
Many of the finest schools in the country are not accredited, yet their students rank with
those from the largest and best funded private and public school programs. A NAP seeks to
recognize, with non-intrusive criteria, the integrity and quality of these programs. Private
and Christian Schools are concerned about communicating the educational quality and
academic excellence of their programs.
People want to know, if the school is accredited and if the teachers are certified, Increasing
State and Federal regulations may soon impact all of our schools. Our Membership and
accreditation with the National Association of Private Schools will help our school build an
image of excellence, integrity, and credibility.
“We at Revelation 3:20 Theological University understand the Philosophy of a scholarly
practitioner and the program of study. The National Association of Private Schools cannot
bestow excellence; it can only recognize and approve the goals of education.”

DEGREE DESCRIPTIONS
Latin honors are Latin phrases used to indicate the level of academic distinction
with which an academic degree was earned. This system is primarily used in the
United States, though some institutions also use the English translation of these
phrases rather than the Latin originals. It is similar to the British undergraduate
degree classification. Generally, a college or university's degree regulations give
clear rules on the requirements to be met to obtain specific honors distinctions.
These may be a specific grade point average, a requirement that the student submit
an "honors thesis" or "honors project" for evaluation, a requirement that a student
be part of an honors program, or graduate early, or a combination of the above.
Each university sets its own standards, and these standards often vary greatly
among universities.
17
Revelation 3:20

DEGREE CRITERIA
Thus, comparing Latin honors across universities is often meaningless; the same
level of Latin honors attained at different universities may actually indicate very
different levels of academic achievement.
Generally, a college or university's degree regulations give clear rules on the
requirements to be met to obtain specific honors distinctions. These may be a
specific grade point average, a requirement that the student submit such as a
thesis or dissertation, a requirement that a student be part of an honors program,
or graduate early, or a combination of the above. In addition to meeting the grade
point average criteria the student must have not repeated any courses nor have
being placed on a probationary status during his/her course of study. Listed below
is the criterion for honor held at Revelation 3:20 Theological University:
Graduate Level Criteria

Honors and Conferment Structure
These honors are almost always awarded to Undergraduates earning their Bachelor's,
and, with the exception of Law School graduates, although some principles on
Conferment has being avoided today these names are used in this terms; many
Institutions have adopted these names in this structure and we also confer our
Degrees in the same manner:
Namely: Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, Sigma Cum Laude Advance
Standing & Honor Student: Are conferred like this:
Cum laude: "with honour" (direct translation: "with praise")
Magna cum laude: "with great honour" (direct translation: with great praise")
Summa cum laude: "with highest honour"(direct translation: "with highest praise")
Official Degree & Color Chart Structure
This Academic Hood Colors List serves an important function for or set of graduation
Academic Regalia (hood, tam, and gown). The regalia hood colors are typically include in
four sections: shell fabric, velvet edge, satin field, and satin chevron.
20
Revelation 3:20
Theological University
Official Degree & Color Chart Structure
The color of the velvet edge is determined using our official degree color chart. That velvet
edge hood color, sometimes known as Academic Regalia Inter-Collegiate Colors, represents
the specific degree or discipline or program of study.
The satin field and chevron (the hood lining colors) represent our university colors. The
overall size and shape represents the type of degree: Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral (with
the narrow end getting progressively longer with the higher ranking degrees).
Finally, the fabric shell color simply matches the fabric color of the graduation gown, which
is usually black but sometimes is another color depending on the degree-granting
institution. Associate degrees use a special cowl instead of a hood.
For the PhD degrees, rules regarding multiple degrees, and determining your field and
chevron colors are the institution style in determining the colors of the conferment for that
multiple degree or disciplines.

Academic Regalia Inter-Collegiate Colors
In determining your academic regalia colors, please note the following: All PhD degrees
(as opposed to Doctorate degrees) use "PhD Blue", which is dark blue, in the academic
colors. For example, a Doctorate in Psychology would include in your academic hood
colors the color Gold; however a PhD in Psychology would use dark blue. If you are
unsure if your degree is a Doctorate or PhD, please contact your administrative advisor
to determine your precise degree title and academic regalia hood colors.
UNLISTED DEGREE
If you have multiple degrees, the rule is that you use only one hood and only one
Degree/discipline color. You use the hood and color that represents your highest
ranking degree (with Doctoral as highest, Masters as second highest, Bachelors as
third highest, and associate as the lowest). If you have two different degrees at the
same highest ranking degree, you generally use the most recently awarded degree as
your hood.
If you have an unlisted degree, there is no official color and it is dependent on the
individual college or university to determine the color to be used for your hood.
Typically, the most similar degree on the official chart is chosen. For example, if your
degree is in an advance computer science field, usually the school chooses Science
Gold for the degree color.

HOOD LINING COLORS (FIELD AND CHEVRON)
At Revelation 3:20 Theological University we understand the importance of
knowledge. And with this knowledge comes and this information about the history
of academic regalia and how it all started. Following a custom established in the
14th century, modern scholars display their academic accomplishments by wearing
academic graduation hoods on their commencements together with their academic
gowns and caps.
Guidelines University regalia strictly comply with the guidelines set forth by the
Committee on Academic Customs and Ceremonies, appointed in 1959 by the
American Council on Education. The academic hood is comprised of a fabric shell
(usually black), "degree velvet" and "school lining". The velvet of the hood represents
your degree or the discipline of your doctorate.
In addition to the degree colors, each school generally has its own colors. These
"school colors" are represented by the colors of the satin lining in the back of the
hood. There are literally thousands of color combination's to combine to get what is
right for your doctoral hood or whichever hood you need Master, BA… they are all
different and varies in disciplines. There are three additional colors that typically go
into your hood. They are the shell fabric (usually black, but sometimes the color of
your robe if your robe is a special color that your university uses), and the lining
colors.
25
Revelation 3:20

UNIVERSITY FIELD
Hoods are lined with the official color or colors of the college or university conferring
the degree. More than one color is shown by division of the field color in a variety of
ways. Most schools divide the color by using a single chevron. Occasionally, a
school or university might use more than one chevron, no chevron but instead a
single field color, an equal division, a reverse chevron, a straight bar or other methods
THE OFFICIAL ACADEMIC CUSTOM CODE
The official "Academic Costume Code and Academic Ceremony Guide" includes a
sentence that reads as follows: "The various academic costume companies maintain
complete files on the approved colors for various institutions." While we would really
like to help you obtain this information, and hope to help you with any information
in reference to you graduation regalia.
All of our hoods are custom made to comply with your degree, faculty, and
university / college standards. How do you wear a hood? The hood should be placed
over your head so that it drapes off your shoulders and over the back of your gown.
The velvet border should be on the outside as shown in the pictures.
26
Revelation 3:20
Theological University
THE OFFICIAL ACADEMIC CUSTOM CODE
Be sure the lining of the hood is turned out so that the color(s) identifying the
institution which conferred your degree are prominently displayed. This can be
done by turning the velvet trim to the outside at the back just below your
shoulders. The cord on the back of your hood will keep your hood in place. The cord
in the front of your hood is provided to keep the hood away from your neck, fasten
the cord to a dress button or the gown zipper. What are the academic standards for
a hood? Material. In all cases the material must be the same as that of the gown.
Shell Color. Black, in all cases.
Length.
The length of the hood worn for the bachelor's degree must be three feet, for the
master's degree three and one-half feet, and for the doctor's degree, four feet. The
hood worn for the doctor's degree only shall have panels at the sides.
Linings.
The hoods are to be lined with the official color or colors of the college or university
conferring the degree; more than one color is shown by division of the field color in
a variety of ways, chevron or chevrons, equal division, etc. The various academic
costume companies maintain complete files on the approved colors for various
institutions.
27
Revelation 3:20
Theological University
TRIMMINGS
The binding or edging of the hood is to be velvet or velveteen, two inches, three inches, and
five inches wide for the bachelor's, master's, and doctor's degrees, respectively; the color
should be indicative of the subject to which the degree pertains (see above). For example,
the trimming for the degree of Master of Science in Agriculture should be maize,
representing agriculture, rather than golden yellow, representing science. No academic
hood should ever have its border divided to represent more than a single degree.
In the case of the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree, the dark blue color is used to
represent the mastery of the discipline of learning and scholarship in any field that is
attested to by the awarding of this degree and is not intended to represent the field of
philosophy.
Line Hood – Symbol of educational status Hoods are worn over the gowns to show your
achievements at commencement events. The velvet on an academic hood represents the
degree earned. The lining colors of the academic hood represent the school where the
degree was earned. The size of the academic hood (both the length of the hood and the

bring the highest level of academic preparation with pastoral formation. For the content of
academic theology is more than biblical studies information. It goes well beyond the mere
form of propositional truth—it is, seamlessly lived reality in fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
Theology can ultimately fail in its purpose, if it ceases the sense of providing the church
with essentials and saving norms will be altered therefore, theology is life—it is the story of
God at work in human history to redeem people versus just the simple study of it.

interdisciplinary field that has emerged during the past few decades with the intersection of
a number of existing disciplines such as psychology. At Revelation 3:20 Theological

intelligent behavior in order to determine all of these concepts who are jointly woven by
nature and its environment.

OUR MISSION
We believe that science can be applied using strategies and methodologies learned in
clinical counseling setting. Christian counseling places an interdisciplinary interaction that
can change individuals in the midst of a crisis, depression, or any other problem that needs
professional intervention in the decision to change. We believe that is important to
understand that spiritual or faith based counseling has become one extra tool in the
hallmark of the field of psychology.
We know that in the field of psychology they are basic principles and foundations that take
knowledge to new developments at the intersection among disciplines, and that
collaboration of them they will serve to preserve and strengthen all participating disciplines
in it. The school of clinical counseling is a degree program designed to train men and
women preparing to serve Christ in occupations other than the ordained Gospel ministry.
This program builds on basic biblical, theological, and clinical foundations. These are
integrated and sharpened through active involvement in the area of counseling throughout

We believe that comprehensive theological education is the ground work to establish exceptional biblical formation. Therefore, the University, its Board of Trustees, Faculty, and staff, focus their efforts to guide students to achieve their maximum potential as we build academic excellence and dedication to Christian education. This can only be accomplished through quality instruction, the study of theological concepts, the maturity and the cultivation of a spiritual life. Our programs are based on the commitment to offer a comprehensive professional training with the latest developments in the field of knowledge and the study of theology. Our programs seek to ensure that our students receive the up most training which will enable them to become ethical competent and spiritual professionals in their field of study. Our educational philosophy is based on our founder, Dr. Narciso H. Montas who believes that: ‘‘Without Education we are empty’ and knowledge is the tool for logic and reasoning; we become obsolete if we do not emphasize on education”. Education is guided by the spirit of love giving to the social spectrum, rather than an individual competition to be at the service of mankind”. Dr. Narciso H. Montas, Founder of Revelation 3:20 Theological University 1

  • 11. Revelation 3:20 Theological University OUR HISTORY Revelation 3:20 Missionary Ministry and Biblical Teachings was established in the year 2000, following a close relationship with Anchor of Salvation International an affiliate of Faith Theological Seminary & Christian College in Tampa Florida. In July 2006, Revelation 3:20 Theological University moved to a new administrative facility located in Cutler Bay in Miami, Florida. Revelation 3:20 Theological University began a new phase in education and opened its mental health therapy center in 2007, from there its doors opened to the public with a new focus and emphasis in education. We became interested in making education a theme for new growth in this and established an affiliation with many scholars in order to bring our current project to fruition. Today, we continue as a four-year Bible college offering degrees in Theology, Education, Music and counseling. Our main campus is located in South Miami, Florida with the name of Revelation 3:20 Theological University. OUR COMMITMENT We are committed and strive to prepare students to make a difference to our society by providing an excellent academic education. We like to be inclusive by intergrading biblical foundations and bringing together a personality, skills, and gifts for the purpose of social empowerment wherever you live, work, or minister. We believe that “Education with a Higher Purpose is simply life and Freedom." It is not competitive knowledge but rather cooperative knowledge. We are committed to be a tool in equipping and forming students that will transform the world we live in.” 3

DEGREE DESCRIPTIONS Latin honors are Latin phrases used to indicate the level of academic distinction with which an academic degree was earned. This system is primarily used in the United States, though some institutions also use the English translation of these phrases rather than the Latin originals. It is similar to the British undergraduate degree classification. Generally, a college or university's degree regulations give clear rules on the requirements to be met to obtain specific honors distinctions. These may be a specific grade point average, a requirement that the student submit an "honors thesis" or "honors project" for evaluation, a requirement that a student be part of an honors program, or graduate early, or a combination of the above. Each university sets its own standards, and these standards often vary greatly among universities. 17
  • 26. Revelation 3:20 Theological University DEGREE CRITERIA Thus, comparing Latin honors across universities is often meaningless; the same level of Latin honors attained at different universities may actually indicate very different levels of academic achievement. Generally, a college or university's degree regulations give clear rules on the requirements to be met to obtain specific honors distinctions. These may be a specific grade point average, a requirement that the student submit such as a thesis or dissertation, a requirement that a student be part of an honors program, or graduate early, or a combination of the above. In addition to meeting the grade point average criteria the student must have not repeated any courses nor have being placed on a probationary status during his/her course of study. The regalia hood colors are typically include in four sections: shell fabric, velvet edge, satin field, and satin chevron. 20
  • 29. Revelation 3:20 Theological University Official Degree & Color Chart Structure The color of the velvet edge is determined using our official degree color chart. That velvet edge hood color, sometimes known as Academic Regalia Inter-Collegiate Colors, represents the specific degree or discipline or program of study. The satin field and chevron (the hood lining colors) represent our university colors. The overall size and shape represents the type of degree: Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral (with the narrow end getting progressively longer with the higher ranking degrees). Finally, the fabric shell color simply matches the fabric color of the graduation gown, which is usually black but sometimes is another color depending on the degree-granting institution. Associate degrees use a special cowl instead of a hood. For the PhD degrees, rules regarding multiple degrees, and determining your field and chevron colors are the institution style in determining the colors of the conferment for that multiple degree or disciplines. 21

  • 32. Revelation 3:20 Theological University Academic Regalia Inter-Collegiate Colors In determining your academic regalia colors, please note the following: All PhD degrees (as opposed to Doctorate degrees) use "PhD Blue", which is dark blue, in the academic colors. For example, a Doctorate in Psychology would include in your academic hood colors the color Gold; however a PhD in Psychology would use dark blue. If you are unsure if your degree is a Doctorate or PhD, please contact your administrative advisor to determine your precise degree title and academic regalia hood colors. UNLISTED DEGREE If you have multiple degrees, the rule is that you use only one hood and only one Degree/discipline color. You use the hood and color that represents your highest ranking degree (with Doctoral as highest, Masters as second highest, Bachelors as third highest, and associate as the lowest). If you have two different degrees at the same highest ranking degree, you generally use the most recently awarded degree as your hood. If you have an unlisted degree, there is no official color and it is dependent on the individual college or university to determine the color to be used for your hood. Typically, the most similar degree on the official chart is chosen. For example, if your degree is in an advance computer science field, usually the school chooses Science Gold for the degree color. 24
  • 33. Revelation 3:20 Theological University HOOD LINING COLORS (FIELD AND CHEVRON) At Revelation 3:20 Theological University we understand the importance of knowledge. And with this knowledge comes and this information about the history of academic regalia and how it all started. Following a custom established in the 14th century, modern scholars display their academic accomplishments by wearing academic graduation hoods on their commencements together with their academic gowns and caps. Guidelines University regalia strictly comply with the guidelines set forth by the Committee on Academic Customs and Ceremonies, appointed in 1959 by the American Council on Education. The academic hood is comprised of a fabric shell (usually black), "degree velvet" and "school lining". The velvet of the hood represents your degree or the discipline of your doctorate. In addition to the degree colors, each school generally has its own colors. These "school colors" are represented by the colors of the satin lining in the back of the hood. There are literally thousands of color combination's to combine to get what is right for your doctoral hood or whichever hood you need Master, BA… they are all different and varies in disciplines. There are three additional colors that typically go into your hood. They are the shell fabric (usually black, but sometimes the color of your robe if your robe is a special color that your university uses), and the lining colors. 25
  • 34. Revelation 3:20 Theological University UNIVERSITY FIELD Hoods are lined with the official color or colors of the college or university conferring the degree. More than one color is shown by division of the field color in a variety of ways. Most schools divide the color by using a single chevron. Occasionally, a school or university might use more than one chevron, no chevron but instead a single field color, an equal division, a reverse chevron, a straight bar or other methods THE OFFICIAL ACADEMIC CUSTOM CODE The official "Academic Costume Code and Academic Ceremony Guide" includes a sentence that reads as follows: "The various academic costume companies maintain complete files on the approved colors for various institutions." While we would really like to help you obtain this information, and hope to help you with any information in reference to you graduation regalia. All of our hoods are custom made to comply with your degree, faculty, and university / college standards. How do you wear a hood? The hood should be placed over your head so that it drapes off your shoulders and over the back of your gown. The velvet border should be on the outside as shown in the pictures. 26
  • 35. Revelation 3:20 Theological University THE OFFICIAL ACADEMIC CUSTOM CODE Be sure the lining of the hood is turned out so that the color(s) identifying the institution which conferred your degree are prominently displayed. This can be done by turning the velvet trim to the outside at the back just below your shoulders. The cord on the back of your hood will keep your hood in place. The cord in the front of your hood is provided to keep the hood away from your neck, fasten the cord to a dress button or the gown zipper. What are the academic standards for a hood? Material. In all cases the material must be the same as that of the gown. Shell Color. Black, in all cases. Length. The length of the hood worn for the bachelor's degree must be three feet, for the master's degree three and one-half feet, and for the doctor's degree, four feet. The hood worn for the doctor's degree only shall have panels at the sides. Linings. The hoods are to be lined with the official color or colors of the college or university conferring the degree; more than one color is shown by division of the field color in a variety of ways, chevron or chevrons, equal division, etc. The various academic costume companies maintain complete files on the approved colors for various institutions. 27
  • 36. Revelation 3:20 Theological University TRIMMINGS The binding or edging of the hood is to be velvet or velveteen, two inches, three inches, and five inches wide for the bachelor's, master's, and doctor's degrees, respectively; the color should be indicative of the subject to which the degree pertains (see above). For example, the trimming for the degree of Master of Science in Agriculture should be maize, representing agriculture, rather than golden yellow, representing science. No academic hood should ever have its border divided to represent more than a single degree. In the case of the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree, the dark blue color is used to represent the mastery of the discipline of learning and scholarship in any field that is attested to by the awarding of this degree and is not intended to represent the field of philosophy. Line Hood – Symbol of educational status Hoods are worn over the gowns to show your achievements at commencement events. The velvet on an academic hood represents the degree earned. The lining colors of the academic hood represent the school where the degree was earned. The size of the academic hood (both the length of the hood and the 28
