1. Alternative refill method for Canon Pixma carts
Supplies needed:
syringe with a longer needle,
sharp object that will make a hole in the cartridge (awl, needle, sewing).
Drill a hole in the cartridge of sufficient diameter for inserting a syringe needle into the chamber
with a sponge (indicated by a red line in the figure).
Turn the cartridge so that the ink outlet is facing upward. Push the needle through the hole as close to
plastic that separates cartridge into the two parts (the part with and without sponge).
Fill the cartridge with ink until the chamber without the sponge is full. Occasionally you can turn
cartridge so that ink outlet is facing down and leave it for a while in order to better saturate spoonge
with ink, and then turn it back and continue to recharge.
When you refilled the cartridge, check the hole you made on the cartridge. If the hole is sufficiently
small diameter, the ink will not leak out of it and the cartridge can thus be used, otherwise seal the
hole with duct tape or screw, rubber plug etc.
