May 9              10K Army 10-         This 10K Run will serve as a qualifier for the Army Ten-Miler to be held in
7 am               Miler Qualifier      Washington, D.C., on 21 October 2012. Teams will consist of six-person
                                        men’s, women’s, mixed, mixed masters, and four individuals; male and
                                        female and male and female masters. Open to Active Duty Military
                                        assigned/attached to Fort Drum. Sign-up by 8 May at the Sports Office,

May 9 & 10         AFTB Level 1         “Military Survival Skills” training for Family Members. Army Family Team
9 am – 4 pm        Training             Building is hosting Level 1 training at the Army Community Service building,
                                        P-4330, Conway Road from 9 am – 4 pm each day. This training will
                                        introduce you to Army basics and much more. This training is two days,
                                        free and is open to all spouses, Soldiers and DoD Civilians. Register today

May 9             Fort Drum          Find out what’s happening on Fort Drum at this evening meeting held at the

May 10            Employment 101     Family Employment Readiness trains Military Family Members on best
9:30 – 11:30 am                      practices for resume writing, job hunting, interviewing and getting the job.

May 10            Basic              Learn to do it yourself and save money. The Automotive Skills Center
5 pm              Automotive         offers basic automotive classes weekly on Thursdays at 5 pm. This week’s
                  Electrical Class   class will go over the basic electrical wiring diagrams and circuits.

May 11            Military Spouse    ACS, in a partnership with Mountain Community Homes and The Exchange
10:30 am – 4 pm   Appreciation       plan to honor Military Spouses by offering a free movie at the Fort Drum
                  Event              Multi-Purpose Auditorium (MPA) from 11 am- 2 pm. The MPA doors will
                                     open at 10:30 and the movie being shown is “One For The Money” starring
                                     Katherine Heigl. After the movie Spouses are invited to an Afternoon
                                     Luncheon, Sponsored by Sams Club, at Adirondack Creek Community

May 12            Texas Hold ‘Em     BOSS hosts the final Texas Hold’em Tournament of the year at the
noon              Tournament         Winner’s Circle located at the Commons. Registration begins at 12 Noon
                                     and first deal starts at 1 pm. Tournament is open to all Soldiers, family
                                     members, DoD Civilians, and Retirees 18 years of age and older. $350

May 12            Doubles Bowling    This tournament is open to Active Duty Military assigned/attached to
1 pm              Tournament         Fort Drum, Family members 19 years and older, retirees, reservists, and
                                     DoD Civilians employed on Fort Drum. Team rosters are due to the Sports
                                     Office, Bldg. P-10050, by 3:30 pm May 11 or at the Bowling Center on the

May 12            Midnight Sports    This event is held in the gym at the Fort Drum Youth Center. Pick-up
8 pm - midnight   at Youth Center    games are played until midnight. Cost is $3.00 for members and $5.00 for

May 13            Mother’s Day       Show Mom you love her by treating her to Mother’s Day brunch at the
11:30 am & 1 pm   Brunch Buffet      Commons on Fort Drum. No one does a brunch better than the Commons
                                     where Master Chef Gee and his staff create a brunch feast for Mom that
                                     will please the whole family! At the Commons you will enjoy assorted
                                     pastries, fresh fruit and all of the regular breakfast fare including the
                                     commons famous omelet station creating custom omelets to order. A salad
                                     bar, side dishes, and a chef’s carving station will be offered along with
                                     seafood specialties. Fresh baked breads and rolls, assorted cakes, and pies
                                     will help finish the perfect brunch along with a juice station, coffee, and tea
                                     included. The cost is at $18.95 per adult and $8.95 for children 8 years and
                                     younger. Reservations can be made for the 11 am seating or the 1:30 pm

May 14            EFMP Respite       This two-hour class held at Army Community Service instructs the
9 – 11 am         Care Training      procedures to follow as a Respite Care Provider.

May 14            Resume Writing     Family Employment Readiness conducts this lab at Army Community
9:30 – 10:30      Computer Lab       Service to assist Military Family Members in learning how to create a
                                     resume on a computer. This class is limited to 15 persons.

US Army Soldier Show – World-class performances by the US Army’s most talented Soldiers. This
evening performance at Magrath Sports Complex Gymnasium will be given at 6 pm on May 29.

 Riverfest – Enjoy a day on the Saint Lawrence River in the village of Alexandria Bay including a boat
tour of the Thousand Islands, visit to Heart Island and Boldt Castle, Lunch, children’s amusements and
fun on June 21with tickets on sale from your Brigade Unit Representative soon.

Mountainfest – A great day of food, activities, Salute to the Nation, games, and music on Division Hill,
June 28.
