4.  Develop communication in many situations and functions
(enquiries, expressing opinions, likes and dislikes,
suggesting, persuading, reporting incidents).
 Speak and improve fluency and accuracy
 Read texts (authentic books, internet, newspapers)
 Listen (interviews, YouTube, radio, news, TV, documentary
extracts)
 Write (forum entry, formal and informal email, report, opinion
and discursive essay, description, story, letter of complaint
and advice, book/film review, use of different linkers)

5.  Review grammar (tenses, modals, quantifiers,
prepositions, articles, types of sentences
(conditional, relative, contrast, result, reason,
purpose, etc.), complementation patterns in
sentences, reported speech,.
 Review and learn vocabulary (new idioms and
phrasal verbs, synonyms and collocations).

6. “Speakout, 2nd Edition, Upper Intermediate”, Pearson,
with Workbook

7.  Two authentic books from a selection of a list you

 Two book reviews will be done about them:
one to be handed in by 20th
January 2017,
the other one, by 5th
May 2017.

8.  1) Oral presentation (5 minutes related to any
topic discussed in class), from January 2017.
 2) Article, entry, review, etc. for school magazine.

 Progress exam in March: Written (21st/23rd
February) and Oral (21st/23rd or 28th February)
 Final exam (June) (to be announced)

15.  The exams will test each of the following four skills: Each
skill must be passed (60%) to pass the course
 If all of them are passed in June (or September), the
course is passed.
 If one skill is passed in March and a minimum of 13 is
obtained in June or September, the skill will be passed
 In September, only the skill that hasn’t been passed must
be retaken.

20.  Please don’t leave us!
 In October: “permuta”, look for another student who
wants to change with you (there is a list on a notice
board, steps to 1st floor) then go to Secretaría and talk
to the teachers
 Later: talk to the teacher of the class you want to change
to and go to Secretaría.
