112. His Personality:
Beginning, Middle, and End.
B: He was very selfish, and basically
only thought about himself. He only
talked about how much he wanted his
mother to hand him over the money so he
can get his hands on a liquor license.
M: When he realized what he was
doing was wrong, he still showed
complete and utter greed and decided to
continue to try to get a license behind his
whole family’s back.
E: His mother had to help him see in
wrongdoing, but when he saw it, he
started thinking of his family more and
encouraged the moving.
113. Walter’s Character Traits… had to change. When
Walter realized he was
in the wrong he had to
turn to his mother. His
mother had to show
him
right from wrong even
though he’s a grown
man. It takes a lot of
pride to be able to do
what he’s done with his
life. He was able to take
what he has learned in
his passed life and turn it

of person you would not want to
tamper with. He can be very sweet at
times but he can also look like a mad
man when he’s been drinking. He
falls over a lot, He also is very
verbally abusive to his
family, especially his sister.
When he does these things, you
could only blame the drinking;
however, sometimes drinking

pretty true.
115. This play is important for us
today for one major reason. The
main reason is because we need to
understand what we have in
life, because at some point it could
be gone. See, Walter had a choice;
he had a choice as the head of the
family to do what he wanted with
the money, or he could do what
the whole family wants and give
his family a better life by moving
into the new house. We can all
learn from that. We can follow the
example by not ever having to
make a choice like that, but to do
the right thing the first time.
That’s what I’ve taken from
watching this whole play.

The Battle of Gettysburg
was the largest and
deadliest single battle of
the American Civil War
to 1861-1865.
Severe tensions
happened between the
North and the South of
the U.S. issues including
states’ rights vs. federal
authority.
As well as westward
expansion and slavery.
127. During the war over the years.
It all started in January
1861, Abraham Lincoln
was elected
president, the South
Carolina legislature
perceived a threat.
The delegates voted to
remove the state of South
Carolina from the union.
128. How many soldiers fought in the
Civil War?
At the beginning of the war the Northern
states had a combined population of 22
million people. The Southern states had a
combined population of about 9 million.
This disparity was reflected in the size of
the armies in the field. The Union forces
outnumbered the Confederates roughly two
to one.
129. Slavery issues
The strategy of the anti-
slavery forces was to stop
the expansion and thus
put slavery on a path to
gradual extinction.
Slavery was gradually
phased out of existence
in the North and was
fading in the border
states and urban areas.
Expanded in highly
profitable cotton states of
the Deep South.
130. Uniforms
The uniforms of the Civil
War helped distinguish
between the Union soldiers
of the North, and the
Confederate soldiers from
the south.
Early in the war, uniforms
were provided by
states, towns and wealthy
individuals.
This resulted in a confusing
variety of styles and colors
on both sides. Over
time, blue became the
official color for the North
and gray for the
Confederate uniforms.
