UT Arlington's Progress in Second Life Virtual World in 3 1/2 Months

UT Arlington launched a virtual presence in Second Life to support educational initiatives across its campuses. It currently has three islands with facilities like an auditorium, conference room, and sandbox for building. Upcoming plans include a virtual genomic research lab for nursing students and investigating virtual graduation ceremonies. The university aims to continue exploring how immersive virtual worlds can enhance education and provide cost savings over physical travel.
