2. Definition - What does SoLoMo
mean?
SoLoMo, short for social-local-mobile, refers to a
more mobile-centric version of the addition of
local entries to search engine results. SoLoMo
emerged as a result of the growing popularity
of smartphones, and provides greater local
precision to search engine results than what's
available via a PC.

3. The Rise of SoLoMo
• SoLoMo arose as a result of the popularity of
smartphones and tablets that integrate geolocation technology. The GPS technology
integrated into these devices provides more
accurate geo results than the "IP mapping"
approach necessary for home or office PCs.

4. Why is it important?
• The explosion of mobile technology has
elevated the concept of contextual relevance
in digital marketing; mobile users now expect
businesses to provide contextually relevant
online resources that inform, entertain, or
resolve. In short, SoLoMo has shifted power to
the consumers, and they know it.

does it bring/give to E-Commerce?
• For businesses, SoLoMo represents an
opportunity to micro-target prospects and
consumers wherever, whenever, with
contextually-relevant content, information or
promotion that is also designed to be shared
on social media.

• SoLoMo is a trend larger than any single
application or company, and it will involve
every industry on the planet.

• We will probably see this trend as something
that’s going to be on every register, in every
vending machine, on possibly every billboard
that’s out
