Kota Kinabalu Tour?
I am going to KK for a 3 days 2 nights short trip from 24 Nov to 26 Nov 07. Do you have any
suggested itinary for me to follow ? Also, do you think is a good idea to stay 1 night in hotel near
to the island like Sutera Harbour so I can go to the island easily and another night in hotel near
to town like Le Meridien ? Will it be too troublesome with this arrangement ? Please advise.
Thanks and Regards
Thanks for all the information. May I know is the taxi fare run by meter ? If not, what is the
charges in average ?
Thanks so much for all your advice. Just to add that My wife and I will be arriving at 9:50 am on
Sat and depart at 11:45am on Monday.
Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:
Actually kk is small and u don have to stay near sutera just to get to the Island. OK, for 3 days 2
nights, not much u can do, I assume the 1st day you touch down and 3rd day u leaving at night.
Here the itenary
2/6
3. 1st day: kk town sight seeing, filipino market, muzeum, mosques, tj aru beaches for sun set
2nd day: Island hopping, snokerling, back evening
3rd day: last minute shopping, filipino market again, Gaya street bazaar (but only sunday
morning).
Usually tourist will come here for the island and Mt Kinabalu, so 3 days trip might be too short…
Enjoy!

What to see & do in or near Kota Kinabalu?
I’m going to Kota Kinabalu in July for 2 weeks and I’d love to hear more about it than is in the
guidebooks. Anything in particular that is not to be missed? Anything I should bring? How much
money should I budget a day? Is it worth going out the the islands & diving? Guided tours VS
doing it yourself for Mount Kinabalu?
All stories and advice appreciated. Thanks.
Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:

might miss the trail.Stay at Renau, plenty of holiday resort and the place is very cooling cause it
is a mountainous region, plenty of local fruit and local food.National park is also nearby with

Betty asks…
Kota Kinabalu holiday?
I am planning to go to KK for 3 nights during X’mas with my spouse. Need some opinions: 1.
Which is better at this time of year: Island tour or Mt Kinabalu park/Poring hot springs? 2. go
day tour with agency or self-drive (could it be cheaper & is it safe to drive on our own & can we
find the place easily?) 3. If staying at the hotel in Hypermall, how far is it to the town (suggest
where)?

Well, great choice! If you go to K.K., make sure you try the awesome seafood available there.
It’s somewhere near Asia City, just ask any taxi driver and I’m sure they’ll know where it is.
They’ve got all sorts of seafood including fresh live soft-shelled crab!
I would definitely recommend going to Mount. Kinabalu for a night or two, just to enjoy the
natural scenery and cool weather(especially now that it’s the year end, a.k.a. Raining season).
Then, go to Poring Hot Spring for half a day and immerse yourself in the free hot spring there or
rent a room to have a little more privacy while enjoying your hot spring with a small cost. You
can also take a walk through the forest which is also located in Poring Hot Springs. There,
you’re supposed to walk via hanging bridges to see what it’s like to be among the tree tops.
It’s quite a long bridge but takes nothing more than 1/2 hour or 1 hour the most.
If you come from K.K., it’s best that you drive. There’s only one road linking K.K. And
Sandakan with Kundasang(that’s where Mount. Kinabalu is located) in the middle. You’ll know
it when you get there! It’s also better to walk on your own without following the day tour so that
there’ll be more time for relaxation and everything depends on your own timing.
If you’ve got anymore questions about Kundasang, Mount. Kinabalu or other parts of Sabah,
feel free to email me. I’ll try my best to fill in those gaps for you.
Happy Holidays!

6. Any advice for trips to Kota Kinabalu for seniors?
Hi All
I am taking my grandma to Kota Kinabalu for a holiday next month for 3 days.
Besides wondering about the hotel and the city, what are the places which I can bring her
(about 70 year old) for fun? I would surely like to take her to the Pori Hotspring, canopy walk
and the Kinabalu Park (sounds fun) but i was wondering this is too physical challenging for
her? I would normally go on my own but since I am taking her with me, should I join a tour
group?
Else, what are the things which a person of her age and me (26yo) can enjoy together?
Thanks.
Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:
