English for Child Care is a comprehensive text designed to meet the language requirements of adults who care for children. The book consists of three sections: Getting Started, Health and Safety, and Ages and Stages. • Groups of 3 ‐4. Shuffle & deal all the cards.
• Players look at their hand and place any matches they have on
the table face up. Think about the words for their pictures.
• Objec?ve: Find the matching card for each request card in
your hand. To get pairs, make the requests that are pictured
on your cards. On each turn, make a request of another
player. Example: Miriam, would you please fold the laundry?
Listener, check your hand. If you have the card with that
ac?vity, say Yes, I’d be glad to (or another appropriate
expression) and give the card to the asking player. Otherwise,
say No and give an explana?on. (Example follows.)
