Spring 2014
Since sales began in April 2014,
Providence in the Ripley Valley
has become one of the ten best
selling communities in Australia
according to independent research
recently released by National Land
Survey Program (Qtr August 2014).
Already, the $1 billion new town,
which is projected to become home
to 20,000 people over the next
20 years, is changing the face of the
region as it takes shape in the Ripley
Valley, nearby to Springfield and
surrounded by stunning mountains.
“We’re creating a whole new town that
brings back authentic neighbourhood
values. Providence will be a township
with a village heart and friendly
walkable neighbourhoods,” said
Providence Director, Michael Khan.
The 670 hectare town is being created
by Amex Corporation, one of the
country’s most respected creators of
large-scale residential communities.
“Almost a third of Providence will be
dedicated to parklands and reserves,
adding up to double the size of
the Brisbane Botanic Gardens,
City Botanic Gardens and South
Bank Parklands combined,” said
Michael Khan.
“Locals are telling us they’ve seen
the amazing growth of other master-
planned communities in the area,
and they want to buy in during the
launch phase when prices are at
their most affordable.”
Work on Providence is well underway,
with construction on the Providence
home display village, neighbourhood
centre and district park facility set for
completion in 2015.
“We are creating a neighbourhood
centre with community space, café,
and parklands with adventure play,
so that there will be great amenities
for families,” Mr Khan said.
“Our display village will also feature
homes from some of the largest
builders in Australia; Plantation
Homes, Metricon, Simonds,
Stylemaster, Ausbuild, Planbuild
Homes, Bold Properties, Hotondo
Homes and Burbank.”
As Providence progresses,
it will also include a future Town
Centre of a modern main street
style with a department store
and supermarkets, specialty shops,
cafés and restaurants and a
civic town park. Also planned
are two future primary and
secondary schools and a health
and well-being precinct.
Oliver Hume, who is managing
the sales and marketing for
Providence, said they were thrilled
with buyer interest.
“With the newly-opened Springfield
train station, Brisbane residents are
realising that Ripley Valley is on their
back door, with more space and
better family-friendly facilities,” said
Oliver Hume Joint-Managing Director
for Queensland, Brinton Keath.

Explore
Providence
When you start to take a
closer look at Providence,
you will see it really is a
whole new town that has
something for everyone.
From the green network of parklands,
to a village heart with alfresco cafés
and local schools, to the housing
style, Providence has been designed
to create a true sense of
neighbourhood values.

will look like by clicking on the video
fly-through on our website
providenceripley.com.au
Starting with your own home,
Providence will feature land ranging
in size from the traditional lots
for families, to the easy-care, low-
maintenance lots often favoured
by retirees and first home buyers.
To cater for a population of 20,000
people in 20 years, Providence will
incorporate a district level health
and wellbeing precinct, ensuring
the necessary health services are
close at hand.
Education will be a strong focus
in the new community, with two
primary schools and two secondary
schools planned. The primary school
will be the first for the Ripley Valley.
A thriving, 20,000 square metre
town centre is planned for the heart
of the town, where alfresco cafés
will shoulder side-by-side beneath
a canopy of leafy tree-lined streets.
Essential retailers, commercial offices
and weekend markets will form a
village heart and soul. What’s more,
in the first 6 stages, no home is further
than a 4-block walk to the proposed
supermarket and town centre.
Beyond that, a network of parklands
will thread their way throughout the
town, with 30 per cent of Providence
dedicated to green and open space
that will cater for a broad variety
of outdoor interests, from casual
walking through to organised
team sports.
Providence will have plenty of
places for everyone in the family
to explore and enjoy.
Ripley Valley,
the place to be
The Ripley Valley is a declared
priority development area,
recognised by the Queensland
Government as one of
Queensland’s most significant
growth corridors.
Located just 10 minutes from
downtown Ipswich and 6 minutes
from Springfield CBD, Providence
in Ripley Valley is strategically
positioned within one of the
largest industry growth regions
in Australia.
Over the next 25 years, the Urban
Land Development Authority projects
Ripley Valley will accommodate
10 per cent of South East
Queensland’s population growth,
with a projected population of
120,000 people and significant
employment opportunities for
the western corridor.
Providence is the largest single
community within Ripley Valley,
and with its two primary schools
and secondary schools, as well as
a health and wellbeing precinct,
it is positioned as the heart and
soul of the region.
Thoughtfully
planned around
your wellbeing
We’re creating one of the world’s most beautiful
townships. A place wrapped in the arms of
nature, where you’ll be spoilt with the finest
facilities, leafy village streetscapes and a
friendly neighbourly way of life. This plan shows
a detail view of the first neighbourhoods under
construction at Providence. The features listed

Town Centre with
a village heart
At the heart of every thriving town is a vibrant
town centre, but Providence will be different.
Rather than wall-to-wall concrete,
residents will shop, meet their
neighbours and have access to health
and education services in a place that
is more like a village than a CBD.
“Providence Town Centre will have a
village feel, with a leafy green, tree-
lined main street. It will be a place
where people are at the heart of the
design,” said Michael Khan.
“The esplanade, strip-style shopping
and alfresco dining will make the
Town Centre the perfect place
for locals to relax with family and
friends,” he said.
The modern main street will also be
where locals run their day-to-day
errands, with a supermarket, services
and a civic town park.
“We are already speaking with
interested businesses, education
providers and health services, and as
new ideas are sparked we revisit the
Town Centre plan,” he said.
The Providence Town Centre will be
an asset for every Providence resident.

When Natalie and Adam decided they
were ready to buy their first home
they carefully considered all their
options before deciding on a house
and land package at Providence.
“The Providence Master Plan was
a standout” said Natalie.
“We love all the sporting grounds and
parklands that surround Providence.
“The shopping precinct is centrally
located, so it will be convenient to
get to, even though we have selected
a lot on the outer edge, near the
large parks.
“We chose a park front lot because
we want a quiet, peaceful home.
“Before deciding on our lot at
Providence, we looked at both
existing homes and building a new home
in a number of nearby developments,”
said Natalie.
“Providence was the best value for money,
we could afford a decent size lot, which
means our ideal two-storey home design
will have a good size yard.
“When we compared existing homes to
building a new home at Providence we
were able to save around $50,000 and
have everything how we want it.”
Natalie and Adam plan to start building
their new home in early 2015.

Shephard, Amex Corporation is
one of Australia’s most successful
family-owned residential development
companies, with hands-on
management by the Shephard
family dating back to 1971.
“Ten years ago, we stood on the top
of the hill at Providence with our Dad
and looked across Ripley Valley, and
together dreamt about how we could
build a new town that had a true
sense of community,” Cameron
Shephard said.
“Our vision for Providence is to build
a modern, vibrant town that creates a
traditional community feel, a place
where people know their neighbours
and their local butcher.”
“I want to be able to take my
7 year old son, and my 5 year old
and 10 month old daughters to these
places in 20 years and be proud of
the legacy we have left behind,”
Adam Shephard said.
“As town founders we believe the
best legacy we can leave is one that
provides generations of people with
a happy, healthy and safe place to live
their lives and that is what we are
building at Providence.
“Sadly, Dad’s not with us anymore, but
we know he’s proud of the plans for
Providence and what it will become.”

Fun & adventure
for the kids
Providence is set to become the
most fun-filled address in the
Ripley Valley with its very own
Adventure Playground.
Active play is an essential part
of keeping children happy, healthy
and creative said Providence
Director, Michael Khan.
“Our first stage will deliver an
adventure playground that has
been designed to be fun for all
ages. It will give intrepid children
a place to build their strength,
skill and imagination complete
with rock climbing wall, flying fox
and free play climbing structures,”
he said.
Parents haven’t been forgotten,
with shelters and barbeques in
the surrounding park so they
can sit back and relax while the
kids wear themselves out.
Playgrounds will be open and
ready to play from when the
first residents move in.
The parks at Providence will
have your kids thinking moving
to Providence was the best
thing you ever did.

New Parkway land release
blocks from $137,000*
Providence has just released a new
selection of blocks for sale close
to parklands, with breathtaking
mountain views. With sales demand
so high, this new land has been
released ahead of schedule.
Homebuyers have rushed to buy
at Providence in the early stages,
recognising the prices offer excellent
value. As a parkland community,
the sense of open space has been a
key attraction. But far from isolated,
this new land release is within easy
walking distance of the Providence
Centre and future school.
This new land release includes a
range of block sizes with prices
ranging from $137,000 to $205,000.
Compared to other areas, Providence
enables people to save considerably
on the total cost of home and land,
or to buy a larger block or larger
home than they could otherwise
afford in older housing estates.
Brinton Keath, Joint-Managing
Director of Oliver Hume, said that
people have been buying from areas
including Springfield and Forest
Lake because they are looking to
build a new home and are excited
about what is planned for
Providence and can’t believe the
value. He said that people from
Brookwater and Augustine Heights
have shown keen interest in
Providence realising they can still
be close to facilities but without
the stress of a large mortgage.
Land can be secured for as little as
$1,000 initial deposit. Oliver Hume
can also provide assistance in
matching people with a home loan
that suits their needs through an
independent home loan agent.

Providence Centre set
to be a hive of activity
Providence’s founders
are committed to making
the town a stand-out
community from the very
beginning, with the
Providence Centre set
to be a thriving community
space for all to enjoy.
“Unlike many new residential developments, Providence is
delivering essential community facilities quickly so they are
ready in late 2015,” said Providence Director, Michael Khan.
“The Providence Centre includes a community space and
café. The community will be able to use the centre for fitness
classes, artistic pursuits, mothers club meetings and get-
togethers, kids activities and the like. It’s a flexible space
created for the community to use as they please.
There are also plans for community events such as outdoor
movies under the stars with the amphitheatre providing
great seating.
“The Providence Centre will overlook the playgrounds,
making it a great place for families to enjoy,” said Mr Khan.
Construction of the Providence Centre and playgrounds
is underway. To keep up to date with progress, go to the

Construction
continues to build
Construction on Providence
continues to build momentum,
quickly transforming wide open
paddocks into parkland, community
facilities and a 24-home display
village in the first stages of the
new town.
Work on an entry bridge over the
beautiful Bundamba Creek marks an
exciting milestone for Providence,
with the public able to access the
community from December.
The bridge will provide direct access
into the hectares of public parkland
and community space at the entrance
to the new town, and which are
connected throughout Providence.
Work will soon be underway on key
community facilities, including an
amphitheatre which will later play
host to public events, a community
centre, a network of playgrounds
and parks and walking trails.
Providence Director, Michael Khan
said civil construction on the
infrastructure necessary to create
a new community began in March
this year and was ahead of schedule
in order to meet strong buyer demand.
“Kilometres of underground water and
sewerage pipes are being laid, and
large-scale earthworks are underway
and need to occur before we can
start on housing construction,”
said Michael Khan.
“People driving along Centenary
Highway will see a lot of activity,
but most of the work is happening
underground.
“Work has also started on the
underground systems for electricity,
gas and telecommunications, to
provide all the essential services
as well as high-speed broadband.”
Construction will also begin on the
internal road network, connecting the
community facilities with the housing,
display village and town centre.

Display Village
Some of Queensland’s
and Australia’s most
recognised building
companies are behind
a 24-home display
village for Providence.
Oliver Hume, who are managing the
sales and marketing for Providence,
said the building community had
backed the residential community
by quickly snapping up land in the
display village.
“We were inundated with demand
from builders. We are pleased that
some of the largest, high quality
builders in Australia secured land and
will feature their newest designs,” said
Oliver Hume Joint-Managing Director
for Queensland, Brinton Keath.
The village, that is scheduled to start
construction in late 2014 and open
in mid 2015, will include homes
from Plantation Homes, Metricon,
Simonds, Stylemaster, Ausbuild,
Planbuild Homes, Bold Properties,
Hotondo Homes and Burbank.
Jason Biasin, Managing Director
of Metricon, said they were excited
by the vision for Providence.
“Providence is set to be the stand out
community in the Ripley Valley.
“From a business perspective it makes
good sense for us to establish ourselves
in what is set to be a major growth
corridor accommodating a substantial
population in the coming 20 years,”
Mr Biasin said.
Brad Collins, State Sales Manager of
Plantation Homes, said that despite
rarely entering into the first display
village of new residential communities
like Providence, the size and scale of
the town played a part in convincing
them to get on board early.
“The developers are backing the project
heavily, with the quality infrastructure
and amenity they have committed to
building up front,” Mr Collins said.
“Land pricing has also been competitive,
meaning we can put together house and
land packages that will entice buyers.”
Metricon will be delivering four display
homes and Plantation three display
homes, with both builders displaying
single and double-storey designs.
Builders have planned for a range of
homes that will suit the market and
respond to the strong interest from
families and empty nesters.

packages currently on offer, visit us at

a birdseye view across the site, as well as share
in the vision for what’s being created.
Staffed by Oliver Hume sales and marketing agents,
Dante De Luca and Diane Cusworth, the centre has been attracting
some of the highest rates of buyer interest in the country.
“Every month, we are seeing more than 200 people visit
our sales centre, with several thousand more logging onto
providenceripley.com.au or visiting us on realestate.com.au,”
said Oliver Hume Joint-Managing Director of
Queensland, Brinton Keath.
“Interest has been phenomenal,” he said. “Smart buyers
want to get in early to gain maximum capital growth
in the value of their homes.”

Room to move
At Providence there will not only be room to
move, but places and spaces that will make
you want to get active and enjoy them!
A network of larger parks that will retain many beautiful, natural
characteristics of the Ripley Valley, and dedicated sports fields,
will surround most of the early stages of residential development.
Greenscapes will be threaded throughout the town and connected
by bike and pedestrian paths with parks dotted amongst residential
areas, providing easy access meeting places where kids can run and
play and still hear their parents holler ‘dinner time’!
An astonishing 200 hectares, that’s almost 30 per cent of land within
Providence, has been dedicated as parks and reserves which is double
the size of the Brisbane Botanic Gardens, City Botanic Gardens and
South Bank Parklands combined.
Come into the Providence Land Sales & information Centre to look

Community update
The team at Providence
are not just thinking
about bricks and mortar
when they say they
are building a new
community.
Providence has recently appointed
Community Development Manager,
Stan Salagaras, who said that to
create a new community, the right
facilities, programs and services need
to be in place for the people that live
there, and they must be accessible
and sustainable.
“Currently we’re focused on three key
elements that will help cement the
community – developing education,
community and economic
opportunities,” Stan said.
“We’ve been working with the state
government and other authorities
to facilitate establishing a school as
early as possible at Providence.
“We are investigating a unique
school model which integrates
with community and health services,
open space and recreation areas,
as well as commercial elements
in the Town Centre.”
Providence is also planning a Health
and Wellbeing Centre, Community
facilities, Sport and Recreation
services and planning community
programs that will be delivered as
the residents move in.

Australian first, great ideas shared!
In an Australian first for a major
residential community, before the
first resident has arrived, everyday
people from the Ripley Valley,
Ipswich, Greater Springfield and
Brisbane regions have had the
opportunity to shape Providence.
Many people have pitched in their
ideas to help design Providence
through the Design Your Town
campaign.
Margret Mantell, President of Ipswich
Hockey, said it was a unique
opportunity to let Providence know
what types of facilities would be really
beneficial to the region.
“Many of the families who participate
in fixtures took the opportunity to
submit a comment for ‘Design Your
Town’, it was great to see even some
of the under 12’s girls submitting
their ideas,” Margret said.
“Already Providence is taking an
interest in the community, by
considering and supporting
those already here.”
The most popular feedback has been
about the outdoor and recreation
facilities, especially sporting grounds
and what the parks should include.

Providence Living Newsletter

  • 1. Spring 2014 Since sales began in April 2014, Providence in the Ripley Valley has become one of the ten best selling communities in Australia according to independent research recently released by National Land Survey Program (Qtr August 2014). Already, the $1 billion new town, which is projected to become home to 20,000 people over the next 20 years, is changing the face of the region as it takes shape in the Ripley Valley, nearby to Springfield and surrounded by stunning mountains. “We’re creating a whole new town that brings back authentic neighbourhood values. Providence will be a township with a village heart and friendly walkable neighbourhoods,” said Providence Director, Michael Khan. The 670 hectare town is being created by Amex Corporation, one of the country’s most respected creators of large-scale residential communities. “Almost a third of Providence will be dedicated to parklands and reserves, adding up to double the size of the Brisbane Botanic Gardens, City Botanic Gardens and South Bank Parklands combined,” said Michael Khan. “Locals are telling us they’ve seen the amazing growth of other master- planned communities in the area, and they want to buy in during the launch phase when prices are at their most affordable.” Work on Providence is well underway, with construction on the Providence home display village, neighbourhood centre and district park facility set for completion in 2015. “We are creating a neighbourhood centre with community space, café, and parklands with adventure play, so that there will be great amenities for families,” Mr Khan said. “Our display village will also feature homes from some of the largest builders in Australia; Plantation Homes, Metricon, Simonds, Stylemaster, Ausbuild, Planbuild Homes, Bold Properties, Hotondo Homes and Burbank.” As Providence progresses, it will also include a future Town Centre of a modern main street style with a department store and supermarkets, specialty shops, cafés and restaurants and a civic town park. Also planned are two future primary and secondary schools and a health and well-being precinct. Oliver Hume, who is managing the sales and marketing for Providence, said they were thrilled with buyer interest. “With the newly-opened Springfield train station, Brisbane residents are realising that Ripley Valley is on their back door, with more space and better family-friendly facilities,” said Oliver Hume Joint-Managing Director for Queensland, Brinton Keath. • 2. Heart & Soul of the Valley Explore Providence When you start to take a closer look at Providence, you will see it really is a whole new town that has something for everyone. From the green network of parklands, to a village heart with alfresco cafés and local schools, to the housing style, Providence has been designed to create a true sense of neighbourhood values. Immerse yourself in what Providence will look like by clicking on the video fly-through on our website providenceripley.com.au Starting with your own home, Providence will feature land ranging in size from the traditional lots for families, to the easy-care, low- maintenance lots often favoured by retirees and first home buyers. To cater for a population of 20,000 people in 20 years, Providence will incorporate a district level health and wellbeing precinct, ensuring the necessary health services are close at hand. Education will be a strong focus in the new community, with two primary schools and two secondary schools planned. The primary school will be the first for the Ripley Valley. A thriving, 20,000 square metre town centre is planned for the heart of the town, where alfresco cafés will shoulder side-by-side beneath a canopy of leafy tree-lined streets. Essential retailers, commercial offices and weekend markets will form a village heart and soul. What’s more, in the first 6 stages, no home is further than a 4-block walk to the proposed supermarket and town centre. Beyond that, a network of parklands will thread their way throughout the town, with 30 per cent of Providence dedicated to green and open space that will cater for a broad variety of outdoor interests, from casual walking through to organised team sports. Providence will have plenty of places for everyone in the family to explore and enjoy. Ripley Valley, the place to be The Ripley Valley is a declared priority development area, recognised by the Queensland Government as one of Queensland’s most significant growth corridors. Located just 10 minutes from downtown Ipswich and 6 minutes from Springfield CBD, Providence in Ripley Valley is strategically positioned within one of the largest industry growth regions in Australia. Over the next 25 years, the Urban Land Development Authority projects Ripley Valley will accommodate 10 per cent of South East Queensland’s population growth, with a projected population of 120,000 people and significant employment opportunities for the western corridor. Providence is the largest single community within Ripley Valley, and with its two primary schools and secondary schools, as well as a health and wellbeing precinct, it is positioned as the heart and soul of the region. Thoughtfully planned around your wellbeing We’re creating one of the world’s most beautiful townships. A place wrapped in the arms of nature, where you’ll be spoilt with the finest facilities, leafy village streetscapes and a friendly neighbourly way of life. • 4. Town Centre with a village heart At the heart of every thriving town is a vibrant town centre, but Providence will be different. Rather than wall-to-wall concrete, residents will shop, meet their neighbours and have access to health and education services in a place that is more like a village than a CBD. “Providence Town Centre will have a village feel, with a leafy green, tree- lined main street. It will be a place where people are at the heart of the design,” said Michael Khan. “The esplanade, strip-style shopping and alfresco dining will make the Town Centre the perfect place for locals to relax with family and friends,” he said. The modern main street will also be where locals run their day-to-day errands, with a supermarket, services and a civic town park. “We are already speaking with interested businesses, education providers and health services, and as new ideas are sparked we revisit the Town Centre plan,” he said. The Providence Town Centre will be an asset for every Providence resident. • 5. First purchasers right at home When Natalie and Adam decided they were ready to buy their first home they carefully considered all their options before deciding on a house and land package at Providence. “The Providence Master Plan was a standout” said Natalie. “We love all the sporting grounds and parklands that surround Providence. “The shopping precinct is centrally located, so it will be convenient to get to, even though we have selected a lot on the outer edge, near the large parks. “We chose a park front lot because we want a quiet, peaceful home. “Before deciding on our lot at Providence, we looked at both existing homes and building a new home in a number of nearby developments,” said Natalie. “Providence was the best value for money, we could afford a decent size lot, which means our ideal two-storey home design will have a good size yard. “When we compared existing homes to building a new home at Providence we were able to save around $50,000 and have everything how we want it.” Natalie and Adam plan to start building their new home in early 2015. Join other residents and follow us on Facebook at facebook.com/ providenceliving Led by brothers Cameron and Adam Shephard, Amex Corporation is one of Australia’s most successful family-owned residential development companies, with hands-on management by the Shephard family dating back to 1971. “Ten years ago, we stood on the top of the hill at Providence with our Dad and looked across Ripley Valley, and together dreamt about how we could build a new town that had a true sense of community,” Cameron Shephard said. “Our vision for Providence is to build a modern, vibrant town that creates a traditional community feel, a place where people know their neighbours and their local butcher.” “I want to be able to take my 7 year old son, and my 5 year old and 10 month old daughters to these places in 20 years and be proud of the legacy we have left behind,” Adam Shephard said. “As town founders we believe the best legacy we can leave is one that provides generations of people with a happy, healthy and safe place to live their lives and that is what we are building at Providence. “Sadly, Dad’s not with us anymore, but we know he’s proud of the plans for Providence and what it will become.” Find out more about Amex at amexcorp.com.au From our family to yours Providence is more than just a master-planned community to the family behind the company Amex Corporation. • 6. Fun & adventure for the kids Providence is set to become the most fun-filled address in the Ripley Valley with its very own Adventure Playground. Active play is an essential part of keeping children happy, healthy and creative said Providence Director, Michael Khan. “Our first stage will deliver an adventure playground that has been designed to be fun for all ages. It will give intrepid children a place to build their strength, skill and imagination complete with rock climbing wall, flying fox and free play climbing structures,” he said. Parents haven’t been forgotten, with shelters and barbeques in the surrounding park so they can sit back and relax while the kids wear themselves out. Playgrounds will be open and ready to play from when the first residents move in. The parks at Providence will have your kids thinking moving to Providence was the best thing you ever did. To find out more about the amazing playgrounds within Providence, visit the website providenceripley.com.au Artist impression of Adventure Park Heart & Soul of the Valley New Parkway land release blocks from $137,000* Providence has just released a new selection of blocks for sale close to parklands, with breathtaking mountain views. With sales demand so high, this new land has been released ahead of schedule. Homebuyers have rushed to buy at Providence in the early stages, recognising the prices offer excellent value. As a parkland community, the sense of open space has been a key attraction. But far from isolated, this new land release is within easy walking distance of the Providence Centre and future school. This new land release includes a range of block sizes with prices ranging from $137,000 to $205,000. Compared to other areas, Providence enables people to save considerably on the total cost of home and land, or to buy a larger block or larger home than they could otherwise afford in older housing estates. Brinton Keath, Joint-Managing Director of Oliver Hume, said that people have been buying from areas including Springfield and Forest Lake because they are looking to build a new home and are excited about what is planned for Providence and can’t believe the value. He said that people from Brookwater and Augustine Heights have shown keen interest in Providence realising they can still be close to facilities but without the stress of a large mortgage. Land can be secured for as little as $1,000 initial deposit. Oliver Hume can also provide assistance in matching people with a home loan that suits their needs through an independent home loan agent. • 7. Providence Centre set to be a hive of activity Providence’s founders are committed to making the town a stand-out community from the very beginning, with the Providence Centre set to be a thriving community space for all to enjoy. “Unlike many new residential developments, Providence is delivering essential community facilities quickly so they are ready in late 2015,” said Providence Director, Michael Khan. “The Providence Centre includes a community space and café. The community will be able to use the centre for fitness classes, artistic pursuits, mothers club meetings and get- togethers, kids activities and the like. It’s a flexible space created for the community to use as they please. There are also plans for community events such as outdoor movies under the stars with the amphitheatre providing great seating. “The Providence Centre will overlook the playgrounds, making it a great place for families to enjoy,” said Mr Khan. Construction of the Providence Centre and playgrounds is underway. Work on an entry bridge over the beautiful Bundamba Creek marks an exciting milestone for Providence, with the public able to access the community from December. The bridge will provide direct access into the hectares of public parkland and community space at the entrance to the new town, and which are connected throughout Providence. Work will soon be underway on key community facilities, including an amphitheatre which will later play host to public events, a community centre, a network of playgrounds and parks and walking trails. Providence Director, Michael Khan said civil construction on the infrastructure necessary to create a new community began in March this year and was ahead of schedule in order to meet strong buyer demand. “Kilometres of underground water and sewerage pipes are being laid, and large-scale earthworks are underway and need to occur before we can start on housing construction,” said Michael Khan. “People driving along Centenary Highway will see a lot of activity, but most of the work is happening underground. “Work has also started on the underground systems for electricity, gas and telecommunications, to provide all the essential services as well as high-speed broadband.” Construction will also begin on the internal road network, connecting the community facilities with the housing, display village and town centre. • 9. Inspiring new home designs to feature in the Providence Display Village Some of Queensland’s and Australia’s most recognised building companies are behind a 24-home display village for Providence. Oliver Hume, who are managing the sales and marketing for Providence, said the building community had backed the residential community by quickly snapping up land in the display village. “We were inundated with demand from builders. We are pleased that some of the largest, high quality builders in Australia secured land and will feature their newest designs,” said Oliver Hume Joint-Managing Director for Queensland, Brinton Keath. The village, that is scheduled to start construction in late 2014 and open in mid 2015, will include homes from Plantation Homes, Metricon, Simonds, Stylemaster, Ausbuild, Planbuild Homes, Bold Properties, Hotondo Homes and Burbank. Jason Biasin, Managing Director of Metricon, said they were excited by the vision for Providence. “Providence is set to be the stand out community in the Ripley Valley. “From a business perspective it makes good sense for us to establish ourselves in what is set to be a major growth corridor accommodating a substantial population in the coming 20 years,” Mr Biasin said. Brad Collins, State Sales Manager of Plantation Homes, said that despite rarely entering into the first display village of new residential communities like Providence, the size and scale of the town played a part in convincing them to get on board early. “The developers are backing the project heavily, with the quality infrastructure and amenity they have committed to building up front,” Mr Collins said. “Land pricing has also been competitive, meaning we can put together house and land packages that will entice buyers.” Metricon will be delivering four display homes and Plantation three display homes, with both builders displaying single and double-storey designs. • 10. Room to move At Providence there will not only be room to move, but places and spaces that will make you want to get active and enjoy them! A network of larger parks that will retain many beautiful, natural characteristics of the Ripley Valley, and dedicated sports fields, will surround most of the early stages of residential development. Greenscapes will be threaded throughout the town and connected by bike and pedestrian paths with parks dotted amongst residential areas, providing easy access meeting places where kids can run and play and still hear their parents holler ‘dinner time’! An astonishing 200 hectares, that’s almost 30 per cent of land within Providence, has been dedicated as parks and reserves which is double the size of the Brisbane Botanic Gardens, City Botanic Gardens and South Bank Parklands combined. Come into the Providence Land Sales & information Centre to look through the detailed Discovery Trail plans that thread through Providence. Postcards from Providence Renowned landscape photographer Ross Eason has seen a lot of awe-inspiring country landscapes. But Ripley Valley is one of the best. Over the past few months, he has captured some of the stunning natural beauty of Bundamba Creek, which will be preserved and rehabilitated as part of 200 hectares of green and open space at Providence. From glowing sunsets, to cool waterways and local pastures, Providence will be nestled amongst awe-inspiring country landscapes – all against the backdrop of Flinders Peak. • 11. Community update The team at Providence are not just thinking about bricks and mortar when they say they are building a new community. Providence has recently appointed Community Development Manager, Stan Salagaras, who said that to create a new community, the right facilities, programs and services need to be in place for the people that live there, and they must be accessible and sustainable. “Currently we’re focused on three key elements that will help cement the community – developing education, community and economic opportunities,” Stan said. “We’ve been working with the state government and other authorities to facilitate establishing a school as early as possible at Providence. “We are investigating a unique school model which integrates with community and health services, open space and recreation areas, as well as commercial elements in the Town Centre.” Providence is also planning a Health and Wellbeing Centre, Community facilities, Sport and Recreation services and planning community programs that will be delivered as the residents move in. Contact Stan on 0417 802 813 or ssalagaras@amexcorp.com.au if your club would like to talk about the opportunities at Providence Australian first, great ideas shared! In an Australian first for a major residential community, before the first resident has arrived, everyday people from the Ripley Valley, Ipswich, Greater Springfield and Brisbane regions have had the opportunity to shape Providence. Many people have pitched in their ideas to help design Providence through the Design Your Town campaign. Margret Mantell, President of Ipswich Hockey, said it was a unique opportunity to let Providence know what types of facilities would be really beneficial to the region. “Many of the families who participate in fixtures took the opportunity to submit a comment for ‘Design Your Town’, it was great to see even some of the under 12’s girls submitting their ideas,” Margret said. “Already Providence is taking an interest in the community, by considering and supporting those already here.” The most popular feedback has been about the outdoor and recreation facilities, especially sporting grounds and what the parks should include.
