Alexey Tumakov is an honored master of sports and ten-time champion of Russia who was born with cerebral palsy in Vyborg, Russia. He began playing football in 1995 and joined the football club "Olympia" in 2000, later joining the Russian national junior football team at age 16. Some of Alexey's many accomplishments include being a three-time Paralympic champion, 2007 World Champion, and best athlete of Vyborg in 2012. Despite facing challenges from his cerebral palsy, Alexey's dedication to training and strong personality have led him to achieve great success in football.

Alexey Tumakov is Honored Master of sports,
tenfold champion of Russia, triple Paralympic
champion. He was born on 28.08.1983 in
Vyborg with a diagnosis of Cerebral palsy.
Alexey began to play football in the club for
disabled children in 1995. Then, in 2000, he
joined football club «Olympia». Later, in 2000,
he joined the Russian national junior football
team. He was 16 then. Alexey is a World
Champion 2007, a prizewinner of world and
European championships and the best
sportsman of Vyborg 2012 as well.
Alexey went to school №6 in Vyborg and then
he studied Instrument-making at the Technical
University. Today he is married and he has a
daughter Maya, who is 3 years old
3. The begining of the
career
Alexey's football career started in the
sports club «Favorit», when he was
about 14 years old. It was his
mother who led him to the football
club. At first it was very difficult for
Alexey to play football because of
his desease. His first coach was
Sergey Goriachkin. He interested
Alexey in football, and Alexey
started to believe in himself. Then he
started to go to different
competitions in Moscow. Thanks to
constant trainings, Alexey got better
and better results, and soon he
became the best player in his team.
4. The player of the
Paralympic football team
Alexey Tumakov has played in the football
team «Olympia» since 2000. He is a
defender. The coach of this team is Lev
Chernov. The players in the team are aged
20-35 . They are from Moscow, Leningrad
Region, Nizhny Novgorod, Ossetia. The team
was formed on 18.04.1997. And in 2000,
when Alexey came to «Olympia», the team
won the first prize at the Paralympics in
Sydney, Australia. Then, in 2007, they
became World Champions among the junior
football teams. Also, «Olympia» won the
second prize at the Paralympics in 2008 in
Beijing, China, and they became winners of
Paralympics in London, Great Britain, in
2012. The players of «Olympia» are hardy,
confident and cohesive. It is an incredible
team with strong players.

Alexey has got a lot of different awards:
-Paralympic Gold medal, 2000, Sydney and 2012, London.
-Paralympic Silver medal, 2008, Beijin.

Alexey is also the youngest honourary freeman of
Leningrad Region.
6. Strong Personality
Alexey Tumakov is a very strong
and confident person. Although
his legs hurt, he strives,
continues playing football and
achieves striking results. Alexey
is also very purposeful and
modest. He doesn't like
publicity. Football is the main,
but not the only thing in his life.
Alexey is also a biker and he
loves motorbikes. He is neat and
he has a great sense of humour.
Alexey does not have much free
time because of different
meetings and flights, but if he
has some, he prefers spending it
with his family.
7. Future plans
Alexey spends nearly all his time training, and his results are
great. Today he hopes that his team will take part in
Paralympics in Brazil in 2016. Alexey thinks that they will be
worthy representatives of their country and will win the
Paralympic Gold medal in 2016.
