Alexei Mishin is a renowned Russian figure skating coach. He had success as a pair skater, winning silver at the 1969 World Championships and national titles. After retiring from competition at age 28, he began his coaching career with junior ladies before switching to men's singles. Mishin developed training methods that helped skaters learn jumps quickly and authored books on biomechanics. Some of his most famous students include Evgeni Pluschenko, Alexei Urmanov, and Alexei Yagudin. At age 73, Mishin continues to coach and believes that through hard work, analysis, and mastering quadruple jumps, his current students can win gold at the upcoming 2014 Sochi
2.
For as long as I remember I always wanted
to be a teacher. I have always admired people
who really dedicate their life to a great
purpose. One of them is Alexei Mishin. He is
not only a great sportsman but a great teacher
too. It's very hard to be talented. But it is more
difficult to teach others how to be successful,to
reveal their talent and to become highly skilled
professionals.

7. Sochi 2014
In 2014 he will be 73. But he is still so
energetic. He has his own methods of
achieving the goal. He thinks that only work,
infinite analysis, quadruple jumps will make
the figure skating champion.
It will be incredibly difficult to win the next
Olympic games. But a group of skaters, headed
by Professor Mishin, are working hard for the
Olympics. He believes that he has the skate
rink of the Olympic Champions. They will
fight for "gold". I wish them good luck and
victory in Sochi.
