The Journey of Life Demands BOUNCE!
1. The Journey of Life Demands BOUNCE!
Today, I want to marvel at our ability to bounce-back from trouble. The process is known in many
different arenas as strength —currently a warm subject of dialogue and research. Just how do we
BOUNCE back from a loved one's death? When other businesses choose to state bankruptcy, why
does one organization bounce-back from an economic depression? What helps one caregiver to
handle a difficult journey when others feel overwhelmed? In a term, resilience! Therefore, let’s
investigate this method of “BOUNCING back†and identify the blessings of REVERSAL.
The basic materials needed to BOUNCE are reviewed inside the American Psychological
Association’s publication, The Trail to Strength, and Dr. Steven Southwick’s book, Resilience:
The Research of Learning Life’s Best Challenges (2012). Based on the experts, resilient people
typically—
• Know Change is Standard
• Perceive Life as Meaning-FULL
• Take Part In Spiritual or Religious Practices
• View Life Optimistically
• Confront Fear
• Remain True to Home
• Foster Supportive Relationships
• Emulate Models of Resilience
• Maintain Physical, Mental Fitness, and Mental
• Adjust To Situations
• Maintain An Expression of Humor
• Will Not be Victims of Life
Take note, you don’t have to get the ingredients listed above to BOUNCE well all. Alternatively,
2. identify your strongest features and function to enhance these particular characteristics. Focus on a
couple of ingredients of strength and be a master of BOUNCING! Uniquely all BOUNCES. Select
your preferred elements and generate your own personal formula for JUMPING.
Personally, resistant role models serve as my motivation to BOUNCE. I've been blessed by incredible
teachers and models of resilience throughout my life. Throughout the toughest situations, examples
of strength inspired me to BOUNCE back. My “grandest†instance of JUMP was and is my
mother. A year after being diagnosed with final breast cancer, Mommy hiked the Great Canyon—in
one-day! Back and along, rounds. She had a mastectomy accompanied by months of radiation
treatments the last year. Mother was emotionally and mentally powerful while physically affected.
She was motivated to successfully complete the trip as well as ENJOY every second of the
experience. Our trip into and from the Grand Canyon was my life's most amazing day. Mother
JUMPING out from the Grand Canyon's storage is actually inspiring!
Forty-two years ago, I learned just how to BOUNCE back from trouble by hiking the Bright Angel
path with Mother. The lessons learned that morning proceed to inspire and also to keep me through
studies and hardships. Mother exuded self-confidence. She thought in others' goodness. She
embraced life. And she sensed the holy while in the ordinary moments. She wasn't a target of life,
although mommy finally died of cancer. She stayed desire- joy and WHOLE -WHOLE to the finish of
her journey—always leaning into existence. In the place of being deflated by hardship, mommy
thought we would JUMP. Her selection supported to encourage everyone who understood and loved
her.
By revealing a little of my history today that you will be motivated too, I hope that. Control exactly
what occurs in life is can’ted by us, but we do have the flexibility to select a reply to life. My
fervent desire is that we all choose to JUMP in great, life-giving techniques.
I enjoy the continuing discussion. If you have issues or certain concerns associated with your
caregiving knowledge, I would want to hear from you. Until the next posting, I yours blessings and
hope you BOUNCE!
