• Max Hypermarket India Pvt Ltd is controlled Landmark
Group, a Dubai-based conglomerate that also owns hotels
and restaurants in the Middle East and India. Max had a
franchise agreement with the Dutch Group – SPAR since
2007, but that deal expired this year.
• Subsequently, France's Auchan entered into a franchising
deal with Max Hypermarket India Pvt Ltd to enter the
super-size retail market segment in India.
• The 13 existing Max Hypermarket stores will be
rebranded under Auchan's colours this year and will
operate under the franchise agreement.

Bharti Retail is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bharti
Enterprises. The Company operates easyday
