5. Google Panda Algorithm
Google Panda is a change to the Google's search results
ranking algorithm that was first released in February
2011.The change aimed to lower the rank of "low-quality
sites", and return higher-quality sites near the top of the
search results this call "Page Layout Algorithm“.
6. Penguin Algorithm
The Penguin Update rewards high-quality, relevant sites while
penalizing poor-quality sites that use “black hat” SEO tactics to
achieve high organic listings.
Black hat SEO tactics targeted by Google include: over-optimization, keyword
stuffing, and link schemes, all of which seek to artificially inflate a website’s
organic rankings.
The intended effects of this update:
Reduce “Webspam” Branding
Improve the organic visibility of quality sit
Incentivize websites to provide users with valuable content
Encourage “white hat” SEO tactics
Like most Google changes, the Penguin Update has the underlying goal
of enhancing users’ search experiences. When users win, Google wins.
Due to its newness, however, it is hard to quantify the exact impact
the Penguin Update will have on organic rankings. Google predicts only
3% of all search queries will be affected, yet many digital marketers
are already seeing drastic drops in website traffic.
