Definition of Non-verbal communication
• The process of signalling
meaning through
behaviors that does not
involve the content of
spoken words is called
Non-verbal
Communication.
• Any symbol that does not
form part of a verbal
language such as
English, Hindi, Oriya, or
any language is a Non-
verbal symbol.
Important of NVC
 93% of communication is
nonverbal
 55% through facial
expression, posture, gesture
 38% through tone of voice
 Nonverbal can include:
Shaking hands, posture, facial
expressions, appearance,
voice, tone, hairstyle, clothes,
expression in your eyes, smile,
how close you stand to others,
how you listen, confidence,
your breathing, the way you
move, the way you stand, the
way you touch people, color
choice, silence.
